This study aims to establish an optimal operation strategy for a smart grid system that simultaneously uses thermal and electrical energy. First, we predict the heat/electricity demand and photovoltaic solar energy for the next 24 hours based on RNN(Recurrent Neural Network). Then, we mathematically model the heat/electricity flow of the smart grid system and solve a mixed integer programming based on the predicted heat/electricity demand and photovoltaic solar energy to determine the optimal heat pump operation strategy and the optimal ESS charging/discharging strategy for the next 24 hours. The simulation studies using the actual data show that our energy prediction/control algorithm reduces the peak-to-average ratio(PAR) of the entire grid.
