As a basic study on the machine tools of modular structure, a Computer Aided Design of feed driving unit and an optimization of the dynamic characteristics of a machine tool structure are carried out.<br/> Computer-aided design technique enables designers to save time and to easily do the job in variant design by effectively documenting design techniques and data. In this study a computer program package was developed for automatic design of a proper feed driving units by utilizing building block principle of IOWA CADET.

The fatigue characteristic study of a Pony Coil spring is perfonned by considering the tropical service conditions in the range of 50℃ through 150℃. The experiment results of the static and dynamic characteristics of the test pieces agreed with the result of the strain analysis by wittricke’s method. The strain energy vahle is increased as temperature rises. An increase is 1.58% at 100℃ and 2.26% at 150℃ after fatigue tests. The elastic strain is also decreased as temperature rises.

The safety and comfort of car seats were studied by utilization of engineering analysis/ experiment and human engineering data. As important factors of the static seating comfort, static spring constant, body pressure distribution, driving posture were discussed. In connection with the dynamic seating comfort, vibrational characteristics of domestic car seats (natural frequencies, damping, frequency spectrum, transmission ratio) were measured and discussed. Finally, the safety of the seat was analyzed and evaluated through calculation and experiments.

最近 다이設計의 硏究는 補强 冷間鍛造用 金型과 더불어 活潑하게 進展되고 있다. 이 論文에서는 冷間鍛造用 金型의 材質로서 補强링에 스프링鋼을, 그리고 內部揷入 다이에 金型鋼(SKD-11)을 使用하였다. 强度計算에서 降伏條件은 最大剪斷應力을 使用한 "트례스카" 理論을 適用하고, 冷間鍛造用 金型에 對한 數値計算을 實施하였다. 金型의 强度에 미치는 影響, 補强링의 效果, 金型치수 및 熱收縮餘裕 等은 實驗을 通하여 觀察하였다. 스프링鋼은 適切한 熱處理를 하면 冷間鍛造用 補强링에 活用할 수 있다는 것을 本硏究에서 얻은 資料를 通하여 알게되었다. Recently, the study of die-design is actively developing with the reinforced cold forging dies. In this paper, the materials of the cold forging dies used spring steel in the reinforced-ring and die steel (SKD 11) in the insert. Yielding condition is based on Trasca's solution (max. shear stress) and carried out numerical calculation for the cold forging dies. Effect of the reinforced-ring, dies dimension and thermal shrinkage allowance observed the influence of the strength of dies through the experimental results. It is found that if spring steels are proper treated, it could be available for cold forging reinforced-ring from obtained data.
