Docetaxel-loaded thermosensitive liquid suppository: optimization of rheological properties

The main purpose of this work was to optimizethe rheological properties of docetaxel (DCT)-loadedthermosensitive liquid suppositories for rectal administration. DCT-loaded liquid suppositories were prepared by acold method and characterized in terms of physicochemicaland viscoelastic properties. Major formulation parametersincluding poloxamer (P407) and Tween 80 were optimizedto adjust the thermogelling and mucoadhesive propertiesfor rectal administration. Notably, the gel strength andmucoadhesive force significantly increased with theincrease in these variables. Furthermore, DCT incorporationdid not alter the viscoelastic behavior, and the meanparticle size of nanomicelles in it was approximately16 nm with a distinct spherical shape. The formulationexisted as liquid at room temperature and transformed intogel at physiological temperature through the reverse gelationphenomenon. Thus, DCT-loaded thermosensitiveliquid suppositories [DCT/P407/P188/Tween 80 (0.25/11/15/10 %)] with optimal gel properties were easy to prepareand administer rectally, and might enable the gel to stay inthe rectum without getting out from rectum.

Zinc sulfide (ZnS) is a widely used material in far-infrared and near-infrared imaging systems due to its exceptional optical transmittance properties. Through a hot isostatic compression process, during manufacturing, ZnS undergoes crystal structure modifications, resulting in increased transmittance across the visible and infrared spectra. However, ZnS exhibits low fracture toughness and irregular crystal orientations, making it prone to brittle fracture during the conventional cutting processes. Such brittleness often leads to surface defects that scatter light, diminishing optical transmittance. Therefore, understanding the conditions conducive to ductile processing is critical and necessitates a thorough brittle fracture analysis. This study introduces a novel quantitative analysis method to determine the occurrence of ductile processing and brittle fracture in ZnS materials after the turning process. To validate the efficacy of this approach, experimental machining was conducted through diamond turning and magnetorheological fluid polishing processes. Subsequently, a comprehensive quantitative assessment of brittle fracture was performed. Additionally, the relationship between brittle fracture and optical transmittance was explored using the proposed analysis method.
하수처리장의 효율적인 Blower Control Logic 개발을 위한 유입수질 기반 공기공급량 적용 연구

The standards pertaining to the quality of discharged water in sewage treatment plants are strengthening, and accordingly, facilities in sewage treatment plants are being upgraded. In addition, the discharge water quality of sewage treatment plants must be maintained at a high level, and efficient sewage treatment plant operations have thus emerged as a very important issue. For the efficient operation of sewagetreatment plants, this study applied a basic blowing amount calculation method based on sewage facilities to evaluate the required oxygen amount and blowing amount according to inflow water quality by logicizing various influencing factors. As a result of calculating the amount of air blown by applying actual April water quality data from sewage treatment plant A to the blower demand calculation developedthrough this study, it was found that the average amount of air blown was reduced by about 12%. When the blower demand calculation developed here is applied to an actual sewage treatment plant, the amount of air blown can be controlled based on the inflow water quality. This can facilitate the realization of an autonomous control of sewage treatment plants, in contrast to the existing sewage treatment operation method that relies on operational experience of operator. In addition, it is expected that efficient sewage treatment plants can be operated by reducing blowing amounts and power costs, which will contribute to both energy and carbon savings. 하수처리장의 방류수 수질기준이 강화되고 있으며, 이에 따라 하수처리장 시설도 고도화되고 있다. 또한 하수처리장의 방류수질은 높은 수준으로 유지되어야 하며, 이에 따라 효율적인 하수처리장 운영이 매우 중요한 이슈로 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 하수처리장의 Blower Control Loigc 개발을 위해, 하수도 시설기준의 기본 송풍량 산정 방식을 기반으로 유입수질에 따른 필요 산소량 및 송풍량을 산정하였다. 본 연구를 통해 A 하수처리장의 실제 4월 수질 데이터를 적용하여 송풍량을 산정한 결과, 평균적으로 약 12 %의 송풍량이 절감이 될 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 산정한 결과에 따라 Blower Control Logic을 개발하여 실제 하수처리장에 적용하게 된다면, 유입수질을 기반으로 송풍량 제어가 가능함에 따라 운전자의 경험에 의존하고 있는 기존의 하수처리 운영방식에서 벗어나 하수처리장 자율제어가 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 또한, 송풍량 및 전력비 절감이 이루어진 효율적인 하수처리장 운영을 기대 할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 불필요한 에너지 및 탄소 절감에 기여할 수 있을 것이라고 판단된다.
한국어 교재의 편지 텍스트에 대한 비판적 검토 : 교재 내 텍스트 제시 양상 및 학습자 경험 분석을 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to critically review the letter text, which is one of the various text types included in Korean textbooks. The focus of the review is the learner experience related to the letter text and the aspect of the letter text presentation in the textbook. The results of the Korean language learner interview survey are as follows. It was confirmed that learners did not acquire sufficient knowledge and skills related to Korean letters that are useful in real life through education, and that the educational effectiveness of letter texts contained in textbooks was low. Based on these results, the classification of types, grade distribution, and utilization methods of letter text in Korean textbooks were analyzed in detail, and the direction of improvement of textbooks was proposed. First, as a result of classification of types, most of the text of letters in textbooks are private and conversational letters. Among the letter texts, especially letters exchanged between friends account for the largest portion, so the “symmetrical relationship” is more than the “symmetrical relationship” in the sender-receiver relationship. In addition, it was found that there were the most letter texts about 'request' and 'ask'. Second, in the case of grade distribution, letter text was mainly concentrated in elementary and intermediate textbooks, so the balance for each grade was not balanced. In particular, letter text was rarely published in Advanced level textbooks, diversity was insufficient, and it did not reflect learners' actual life needs. Third, it is difficult to say that Korean learners are actually optimized for developing the ability to write letters in terms of the type of learning activities and presentation method of textbooks. Based on this, the improvement plan for Korean textbooks related to the letter text is as follows. First, letter text should be handled in a balanced and appropriate manner according to the level of proficiency by grade in Korean language textbooks. Second, the accessibility and diversity of letter text sentences should be further secured in high-quality Korean textbooks. Third, it is necessary to actively deal with Korean textbooks such as presenting and explaining structures that help write letters. 이 연구의 목적은 한국어 교재에 수록된 다양한 텍스트 유형 중에 하나인 편지 텍스트를 비판적으로 검토하는 것이다. 검토의 초점은, 교재 내 편지 텍스트 제시 양상과편지 텍스트와 관련된 학습자 경험이다. 한국어 교재 내 편지 텍스트 제시 양상을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유형 분류 결과, 교재의 편지 텍스트는 조화롭게 선정되지 못했다. 대부분 사적, 대화적, 대칭적 관계, ‘요구하기’와 ‘안부 묻기’에 치중되어 있다. 둘째, 등급 분포의 경우에는 편지 텍스트가 주로 초·중급 교재에 집중되어서 각 등급별 균형이 맞지 않았다. 셋째, 교재의 학습 활동의 유형이나 제시 방식 면에서도 한국어 학습자들이 실질적으로 편지를 작성하는 능력을 기르는 데 최적화되어 있다고 보기 힘들다. 그 다음으로 한국어 학습자 인터뷰 조사를 통해, 학습자들이 실제 생활에유용한 한국어 편지 관련 지식과 기능을 교육을 통해 충분히 얻지 못한 편이며, 교재 수록 편지 텍스트의 교육적 효용성을 낮게 평가함 등을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 편지텍스트와 관련하여 한국어 교재의 개선안을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국어 교재에서 등급별 숙달도 수준에 맞게 편지 텍스트를 균형 있고 적절하게 다루어야 한다. 둘째, 한국어 고급 교재에서 편지 예시문의 접근성과 다양성이 더욱 확보해야 한다. 셋째, 한국어 교재에서 편지 쓰기에 도움이 되는 구조 제시나 설명 등 적극적으로 다루어야한다.
