본 연구에서는 자기조절력을 뇌과학적 관점에서 고찰하여 영유아의 자기조절력이 어떠한 단계를 거쳐 발달하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 자기조절력과 관련된 뇌 기제에 대해 알아보고, 뇌과학 관점에서 영유아의 인지조절 및 정서조절의 발달을 고찰하였다. 고찰한 내용을 근거로 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 영유아의 자기조절력 중 인지조절은 배외측 전전두피질(DLPFC), 전측대상피질(ACC)의 발달과 신경전달물질의 활발한 생성과 활동으로 자기의도 인지, 행동계획 및 모니터링의 순으로 발달한다. 둘째, 영유아의 정서조절은 신경전달물질의 생성 및 활동과 전전두 피질(PFC)의 발달, 특히 안와 전전두피질(OFC), 전측대상피질이 발달함으로써 자기정서 인지, 타인정서 인지, 정서억제, 정서대처의 순으로 발달한다. 연구결과에 근거해서 영유아의 자기조절력 발달을 효과적으로 지원할 수 있는 방안에 대해 논의하였다. This study was aimed at examining the development of self-regulation from the perspective of neuroscience and investigating the stages through which the self-regulation of young children would develop. The following results were obtained based on the investigation. First, among the self-regulation of young children, cognitive regulation develops through the stages in the order of recognition of his/her own intentions, followed by behavior planning and monitoring, based on the development of dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(DLPFC) and anterior cingulate cortex(ACC) and the vigorous generation and activity of neurotransmitters. Second, emotional regulation of young children develops through the stages in the order of recognition of one`s own emotions, recognition of others` emotions, inhibition of emotions and emotional coping, also based on the development of prefrontal cortex(PFC), especially OFC and ACC area and generation and activity of neurotransmitters. Based on the findings, the measures to effectively support the development of self-regulation of young children were discussed.

영유아기 자녀를 위한 자기조절력 측정척도의 개발을 위한 기초연구

영유아기 자녀를 위한 자기조절력 측정척도의 개발을 위해 본 연구에서는 영유아 교육 및 보육 전문가 20명을 대상으로 두 차례에 걸쳐 델파이 조사를 실시하였다. 조사에 사용된 시안은 5점 리커트 척도로서 총 96문항(자기감정 인지 19문항, 타인감정 인지 16문항, 감정억제 16문항, 감정대처 14문항, 자기의도 인지 15문항, 행동계획 및 모니터링 16문항)으로 구성되었다. 수집된 자료에 대해서는 각 문항의 평균 및 표준편차, 사분범위(IQR), 내용타당도 비율(CVR) 값을 산출하여 문항의 타당성을 검토하였다. 델파이 1차 조사 결과, 문항선정기준을 충족시키지 못한 문항은 8문항으로 확인되었으나 패널들의 의견을 반영하여 문항 내용을 수정하였다. 델파이 2차 조사에서 모든 문항의 평균 및 표준편차, CVR 값이 문항 선정 기준(M≥4.00, SD≤1.00, CVR≥.42)을 충족시키는 것으로 나타났다. 사분범위를 검토했을 때 1문항이 문항 선정 기준(Q3-Q1≥1.00)에 미달하는 것으로 나타났으나 다각적인 기준으로 문항의 타당성을 분석한 결과, 영유아기 자녀를 위한 자기조절력 측정척도는 최종 96문항으로 확정되었다. In order to develop self-regulation scale for infants and preschoolers, two sessions of Delphi surveys were performed on 20 educational and day care experts. Draft proposal for the surveys was a 5 point Likert scale consisting of total of 96 items as follows: 19 items for recognition of one`s own emotions; 16 items for recognition of others` emotions; 16 items for inhibition of emotions; 14 items for emotional coping; 15 items for recognition of his/her own intentions; 16 items for behavior planning and monitoring. Validity of the items was evaluated by considering the mean, standard deviation, inter-quartile range(IQR) and content validity ratio(CVR) of each items. There were 8 items that were deemed insufficient to qualify as items from the first session of Delphi survey, resulting in revision of the contents of the items based on the panelists` recommendations. All items were found to qualify as items from the second session of Delphi survey based on mean, standard deviation and CVR values(M≥4.00, SD≤1.00, CVR≥.42). One item was found to be insufficient to qualify as an item based on the IQR, but upon multilateral analysis of items, total of 96 items were confirmed for self-regulation scale for infants and preschoolers.
