This study is concerned with the matrix storage reduction technique for large-scale eigen computation. Generally speaking, it is too big to solve matrices of the eigen problem of large-sized structures that have so many nodes and degrees of freedom(DOF). However, most of matrices are banded sparse matrices so that one can take advantage of this characteristic to reduce the storagespace, leading to very efficient finite element eigen analysis. In this study, we introduce a matrix storage reduction technique for stiffness and mass matrices, and we coded a test Fortran program. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed technique is examined through the illustrative numerical experiments.

A kimchi refrigerator is a household electric product to develop with the wholly domestic technology for maturing and keeping kimchi. The principle of keeping is not yet revealed obviously. Therefore, inquiry into the fundamentals of things is a way to improve performance effective through experiments and numerical analysis. The flow and heat transfer characteristics in the kimchi refrigerator are investigated in this study.
