In this paper an investigation on critical speed is carried out with two rotor bearing systems defined according to a case of same bearing supports and a case of different bearing supports at both ends. For the critical speed analysis, there is applied the model of a 5 ㎿ industrial gas turbine generated by commercial rotordynmic software, DYNAMICS 4.4. Results have shown that the 2nd critical speed has dramatically increased in critical speed map by the stiffness imbalance between different bearing supports. It has also confirmed from the particular changes of mode shape and potential energy at the critical speed.
