The plasma display panel with the electrode structure of new discharge AND gate was developed and the driving system for experiment was developed. And discharge AND gate operation was verified. Discharge AND gate operated by the operation speed of 8㎲ and the of operation margin of 20V. It was known to be able to control the discharge of the adjoining scan electrode accurately. Because this method uses the DC discharge, the control of the discharge can be facilitated compared with conventional discharge AND gate. Moreover, because the input discharge and the output discharge of AND gate are separate, the display discharge can be prevented from passing AND gate. Therefore, it is possible to apply to the large screen plasma display. And the decrease of contrast ratio does not occur because the scanning electrical discharge does not influence the picture quality.

This paper deals with the analytical study for predicting the path dependent forming limit for bilinear strain paths. To predict the forming limit diagram the analytical procedure was performed within the framework of Marciniak and Kuczynski approach by introducing the effect of the existence of strain gradient over the stretching punch. The predicted path dependent forming limit of anisotropic sheet was compared with experimental ones. It is found that the predicted path dependent forming limits are in good agreement with those experimental data.

Hot-Press-Forming (HPF), an advanced sheet forming method in which a high strength part can be produced by forming at high temperature and rapid cooling in dies, is one of the most successful forming process in producing components with complex geometric shape, high strength and a minimum of springback. The thermo-mechanical coupled analysis for a hot-press-formed lower arm is performed by using the commercial program, LS-Dyna. To optimize conditions of forming quality in HPF process and secure a safe product without any failures, such as fractures and wrinkling, the simulations are coupled with Taguchi’s orthogonal array experiment. Three design and process variables―the friction coefficient, blank shape, and hole location for burring―are selected to be optimized. The most effective condition of forming quality for a hot-press-formed lower arm is suggested. The simulation results are confirmed with experimental ones.

Period which does an electric condition of panel in reset in the driving method of PDP is reset period. This research experimentally analyzed the priming discharge characteristic of reset period. The amount of wall charge and the accumulation time accumulated by priming discharge are unrelated to which of priming pulse. And, self-erase discharge has the relation in the amount of wall charge by priming discharge. Then, it relates also to space charge generated by priming discharge. Moreover, space charge which helps self-erase discharge exists to about 22㎲ after generating priming discharge. And, it is suitable within 12㎲ of priming pulse width for efficient reset.

Most failures of ductile materials in metal forming processes occurred due to material damage<br/> evolution - void nucleation, growth and coalescence. In this paper, the modified yield function of Liao<br/> et al in conjunction with the Hosford's yield criterion is studied to clarify the plastic deformation<br/> characteristic of voided anisotropic sheet metals. The void growth of an anisotropic sheet under biaxial<br/> tensile loading and damage effect of void growth on forming limits of sheet metals are investigated.<br/> Also the characteristic length defining the neck geometry is introduced in M-K model to incorporate<br/> the effect of triaxial stress in necked region on forming limits. The forming limits theoretically<br/> predicted are compared with experimental data. Satisfactory agreement was obtained between the<br/> predictions and experimental data.

Hot Press Forming (HPF) process with which automotive product is formed at elevated temperature and cooled down in the tool to get the ultra-high strength has been applied to improve weight reduction and crash performance. AlSi coated material for HPF process is widely used to prevent oxidation of substrate during heating in the furnace and transport to the press in the air. This study observed surface color of the AlSi coated sheet with heating condition and analyzed the characteristics of AlSi coated layer. As heating time gets longer, surface color after cooling was changed from gray to blue. The coated layer has a thickness over 35㎛ after heating and reaction between coated material and substrate results in a specific alloy composition along with coated layer. Finally, pick-up of AlSi coated layer on the tool was observed and elimination of pick-up is one of the factors that stop the process and increase maintenance costs for the serial process.

본 연구는 기존에 제안한 방전 AND gate PDP의 결점을 개선한 연구로써 AND gate를 구성하는 DC 방전의 극성을 반대로 설계하여 인접 주사전극에 대한 cross talk를 개선하였다. 또한 기존의 AND gate가 공간전하에 의한 방전의 비선형성에 의존한 것과는 달리 본 연구에서 제안한 AND gate는 방전 경로에 따른 전압의 변화에 의존하는 것으로 AND gate의 동작이 한층 안정해졌다. 실험 결과 4개의 수평 주사전극에 대해 선택적인 어드레스 방전이 가능하였으며 각각 34V와 70V의 AND 방전 및 Data 방전의 동작마진을 얻을 수가 있었다.
