        군병원 입원환자의 낙상실태 및 낙상위험요인

        Purpose: This study aims to identify the fall`s characteristics and the fall risk factors among inpatients in Armed forces hospital, and to compare effectiveness of the Morse Fall Scale (MFS) with the Armed forces hospital Fall Scale (AFS). Methods: The medical records of 253 faller, admitted to Armed forces hospital from January 1 to December 31, 2014, were subjects of the experiment. 253 non-fallers were matched with fallers according to hospital, age and medical department. Results: There were significant differences between fallers and non-fallers according to their education status, emotional disturbances, orthostatic hypotension, MFS, level of fall risk, pain, status of activity, and gait assistance by univariate analysis. AFS was significantly correlated with MFS. The factors influencing fall in Armed forces hospital were education status, emotional disturbances, level of fall risk, pain, status of activity, gait assistance. Conclusion: This study supports the necessity of appropriate fall risk assessment tool for inpatients at Armed forces hospital. Furthermore the research emphasize to develop nursing intervention strategies for fall prevention at the hospital.
