In-arm type hydropeumatic suspension unit(ISU) is an equipment of armed tracked vehicle to absorb impact load and vibration from the irregular ground. During the operation of ISU, main piston moves forward and backward and oil flowing through damper transmits the external impact load to floating piston. Heat is generated in ISU by the oil pressure drop through the damper orifice and the friction between cylinder wall and two pistons. On the other hand, internal heat dissipatis outside via heat convection. Occurrence of high temperature can deteriorate durability of major components and basic function of ISU. And, it can cause fatal problem in the ISU life time and the sealing performance of piston rings. As well, the spring constant change of nitrogen gas that is caused by the temperature rise exerts the negative effect to the vehicle stability. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the heat transfer analysis of the entire ISU unit, by finite element method, with the outside flow velocities 8㎧ and 10㎧.

The hose reel station is installed on the heli-deck of ship or offshore plant to release extinguishing foam mixed with water and extinguishing liquid. In-line eductor is the main part of hose reel foam station, which mixes water and extinguishing liquid. The over-mixing of liquid can lead to additional environmental pollution after release and can cause problems such as reducing the discharging distance of the mixed solution. Therefore, proper mixing ratio of water and extinguishing liquid is very important for effective fire extinguishing and secondary pollution prevention. The In-line eductor is installed in the hose reel station to mix water and extinguishing liquid and deliver it to the hose. In this paper, the design factors of the In-line eductor are reviewed to identify the factors influencing the mixing ratio of water and extinguishing liquid to obtain a better design by computational analysis.

Unlike ordinary vessels, naval vessel should be designed and built considering the combat situation, and this applies equally to the equipment installed inside and outside the vessels. A method of designing and testing equipment to dampen shock waves transmitted to a ship or to withstand them by a noncontact underwater explosion has been studied by research institutes in the US and Europe. In this paper, various design criteria to evaluate the shock resistance of the equipment installed in the ship are introduced, and the application methods and limitations of each guidance are compared. And finally, the necessity and advantages of the CAE application in the shock resistance evaluation are described.
