The concept of empowerment has been the focus of much discussion in the organizational management, Despite all the attention empowerment is receiving, a clear definition of the construct is lacking. Furthermore, there have been very few empirical studies investigating empowerment's antecedents and outcomes. The primary goal of this study is as follows: First, The relationships between social-structural context(rewards, power, information, knowledge) and psychological empowerment. Secondly, the relationships between the psychological empowerment and three key anticipated outcomes of empowerment in the workplace(job performance, job satisfaction, job-related strain). Thirdly, Testing the mediating role of empowerment between social-structural context and the anticipated outcomes of empowerment. Findings indicated that power and knowledge affect psychological empowerment. In addition, the psychological empowerment was found to have a direct effect on job performance and job satisfaction. the psychological Empowerment was found to mediate the relationship between social-structural context(particularly rewards, power, knowledge, information) and the anticipated outcomes of empowerment(particularly job performance, job satisfaction).
