Herpes zoster (HZ) is the secondary manifestation of an earlier infection with the varicella-zoster virus in one or more dermatomes. As reactivation of the virus is linked to an age-related diminished virus-specific and cell-mediated immunity, HZ develops mainly in elderly people. Acute zoster is painful, but does not incur lasting morbidity. Reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus in the trigeminal nerve (Herpes zoster) occur with severe pain and rash in the oro-facial region. The acute pain decreases as the rash begins to heal. Postherpetic neuralgia(PHN), the most frequent complication of herpes zoster, is usually defined as pain in the involved dermatome that is still present 3 month after rash onset. The clinical characteristics of PHN are, eposodic stabbing pain, burning pain and allodynia, with hypoesthesia and/or dysesthesia. $Neurometer^{(R)}$(neuroselective sensory nerve conduction threshold: sNCT, Automated current perception threshold: CPT, neurotron incorporated. Baltimore, Maryland. 21209 U.S.A.) is convenient, rapid and noninvasive, and allows objective assessment of sensory disturbance. This case is about the postherptic neuralgia patient assessed with $Neurometer^{(R)}$. From this case, we reviewed the pathophysiology and the treatment of PHN and recommend the assessment of pain intensity with $Neurometer^{(R)}$ as quantitative and objective method.

During root canal treatment, overinstrumentation with hand or mechanically driven files can perforate the mandibular canal, allowing the extrusion of endodontic sealers, dressing agents, and irrigant solutions out of the tooth and into the canal. The patient may report symptoms such as pain, hyperesthesia, hypoesthesia, anesthesia, dysesthesia and paresthesia. Such problems must be resolved as quickly as possible to avoid irreversible sequelae caused by certain neurotoxic materials that form part of endodontic sealants. Although there have been no controlled trials of treatment protocols involving endodontically related injuries to the inferior alveolar nerve, the normal therapeutic sequence for this complication is the control of pain and inflammation and, whenever possible, the surgical elimination of the cause. However, total resolution of pain and reduction in or disappearance of paraesthesia after a non-surgical management have been reported. Antiepileptic drugs such as gabapentin or pregabalin have been used for the treatment of neuropathic pain. This article describes a case of inferior alveolar nerve(IAN) damage after endodontic treatment of a mandibular right second molar and the treatment with non-surgical approach using prednisone and gabapentin medication, monitoring the patient's condition with clinical neurosensory examination and current perception threshold test(Neurometer).
Kinetics of the Formation of Nickel-Phthalocyanine

A mechanism for the ring formation of nickel phthalocyanine (Ni-Pc) has been proposed based on chemical kinetics. The effect of the catalyst on the rate was examined, and ammonium molybdate has been found to be the most effective. The reaction order of the ring formation was determined to be of the 1st order over all, with only the concentration of urea affecting the rate of the ring formation. All the results including thermodynamic parameters support a conclusion that the rate-determining step seems to be the enolization of the urea-catalyst transition complex, followed by fast decomposition of the tautomeric enolized urea into ammonia and isocyanic acid. These intermediates then reacted with the phthalic anhydride to form imino and diimino-phthalimide, which condense to form nickel phthalocyanine in the presence of the nickel cation.

The objective of this study was to describe the prevalence of the headache attributed to Temporomandibular disorder(TMD) symptoms and to investigate the relationships of headache and TMD. 66 patients seeking care for signs and symptoms of Temporomandibular disorders(TMD) and Orofacial pain in the department of oral medicine, Dental Hospital, Chosun University, from January, 2008 to June, 2008, were recruited. The obtained results were as follows : 1. A muscle and TMJ origin combined was the most common in study populations(54.55%), grouped as TMD classification. 2. Tension type headache was the most common in study population(89.39%), grouped as headache classification. 3. 36 patients out of 66(54.55%) had headaches which related to TMD. 4. Out of 36 patients who had suffered the headache which were attributed to TMD, 19 patients(52.78%) described that their headache related to TMD was different from their own primary headaches. In conclusion, headache attributed to TMD is relatively common in the patients who had headaches and TMD symptoms together. And the new headache patterns may related to headache and TMD chronification. Larger-scale studies and more specified and controlled comparison study is needed to confirm the relationship between the headache and TMD.
Absorption Spectra and the Structure of Metalized Monoazo Complexes

몇가지 monoazo 一金屬錯鹽들의 UV吸收 spectra를 測定하여 이것을 基礎로 하여 그 金屬錯鹽들의 構造를 論하였다. 옆으로 찌그러진 八面體모양의 幾何學的構造를 提案하였다. UV absorption spectra of some metalized monoazo complexes have been measured, and the structure of the complexes is discussed based on the spectra. A compressed octahedron is proposed as the geometrical structure of the complexes.

Oromandibular dystonia is a focal neurological movement disorder characterized by involuntary sustained and often painful muscle contraction, usually producing repetitive movements or abnormal positions of the mouth, jaw and.or tongue. Patients suffering from oromandibular dystonia often experience difficulties in chewing, swallowing and speaking, resulting from the impairment of mandibular movements. At present there is no etiologic treatment for oromandibular dystonia, because the pathophysiology of primary and focal dystonia is still incompletely understood. Many treatments such as medication, behavioral therapy, surgery are suggested to decrease the involuntary movements. But these success rates are relatively low and they have a lot of complications. many studies suggested that chemodenervation with botulinum toxin is the most effective treatment for oromandibular dystonia. We reported the 2 cases which were treated oromandibular dystonia with botulinum toxin and reviewed the orofacial movement disorders(especially oromandibular dystonia) and botulinum toxin treatment for oromanfibular dystonia.

In the air cutting process, workers perform manual work, so the quality is not uniform, and the defect rate rises, which creates a quality deterioration problem and ultimately fails to gain customer trust. Therefore, it is essential to build an automation system using robots. In this study, with the goal of establishing the manual process in the electrodeposition coating process as an automated system, two collaborative robots were used to place the 3D lay-out and then the robot simulation was performed.

본고는 국내 나노기술 분야의 연구개발 인력과 기자재에 관해 설문항목을 설정하여 전국의 나노기술 관련 중요 기관의 책임자들을 면담하여 조사하여 그 결과를 분석한 것이다. 현재 관련 인력의 보유 현황, 향후 수요 및 수급방법 등과 인력양성 정책에 대하여 소속기관별, 연구분야별로 조사 분석하였다. 또한 나노기술 연구기자재의 현황과 향후 수요 및 관련 정보활용에 관해 조사 분석하였다. 이를 통해 나노기술 인력과 기자재 분야의 정책 수립과 정보활용에 관한 유용한 제안을 제공하고자 한다. This study conducted a comprehensive survey on the status of R&D manpower and facilities in nanotechnology in Korea by interviewing R&D leaders from major research institutes nationwide. Present and future demand and supply for nanotech manpower and its policy were analyzed according to research organizations and research fields. And also nanotech-related equipment and facilities were analyzed. This study gives some useful suggestions for policy making of nanotech manpower and facilities.
