This paper presents the new 2.5-liter in-line six cylinder engine which GMDAT(GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology) has developed for use in L6 MAGNUS vehicle since 1995. It has been developed to meet the markers high demands on comfort, performance, reliability. economy and environmental firiendliness. By applying new technology of aluminum liner it has been possible to create an extremely compact and light weight engine. Therefore it has been achieved to install inline six cylinder engine transversely in the medium sized vehicle such as MAGNUS world firstly. Also the engine has been designed and manufactured with the help of advanced CAE technology. The new engine can comply with ULEV II and EURO IV.<br/> This papcr will introduce various technologies. engine construction. principal component Pats and test results, used in this engine.

Parametric studies based on analysis of lubrication system of a four cylinder gasoline engine are illustrated system in this paper. In development process of engine lubrication system, parts of failure cases are related with oil pull over and oil churning phenomenon. The crankcase & head system pressure by oil churning phenomenon are gradual increased. It cause oil pull over phenomenon at engine breather line and oil over-consumption. In order to improve oil reduction and oil pull over phenomenon are also considered in the developing state. For this study, the characteristics of engine lubrication system are measured at various tilting angle and drain hole sizes. In addition, the oil flow & oil quantity are tested by blow by meter and catch jar. Results are presented to stabilize the oil supply system at sever driving condition. The data from present study are available for the engine lubrication system.

Recently, our planet faced with very serious problems related to the air pollution and to the lack of energy resources. So, lots of researchers have studied to reduce the exhaust emission of Automobile that influenced the environment strong. Therefore. this paper was studied characteristics of emission performance by variation combustion chamber and PDA valve in single spark ignition engine. These studies in a spark ignition engine is one of the best solution for improvement of fuel economy and reduction of emission level. Two combustion chamber which have slightly different shaper in order to apply on SI single engine to improve combustion and to reduce emission gas. And PDA valve has been used to satisfy the requirements of sufficient swirl generation to improve combustion and performance to effect on flow profile on a combustion chamber. It is forced that injection timing, spark timing and intake air motion govern the stable combustion. Using the results of the test, the effects of the variable combustion chamber and PDA can be improved fuel consumption and be reduced exhaust emission.
