Nowadays for enhancing driving convenience and safety, radar has been installed in the car. Automotive radar has to detect a velocity and distance of target with accuracy. In this paper for reliable target detection in multitarget environment common CFAR algorithm has been discussed Model based design is a efficient and cost-effective way to develop embedded systems. Model based design has been more stable in many aspect. So many automotive applications have been developed with model based design. In this paper, CFAR algorithm that is applied for our automotive radar has been developed by using model based design. And also source code of CFAR algorithm is generated with code generation tool.

This paper describes the target priority selection method in Smart Cruise Control (SCC) system. Because SCC system controls the driver’s vehicle velocity according to relative location of a preceding vehicle on a same lane, the key to achieve intelligent SCC system is properly tracking a target vehicle regardless of road curvature conditions. Due to the limit of estimating the road curvature caused by sensor imperfection, prompt estimation results in abrupt speed change. In this paper, firstly conventional method is analyzed then proposing hysteresis algorithm is described. Simulation as well as real measuring data are analyzed and show improvement in a sensor robust against abrupt maneuvering of an ego car.

As the system gets to be more intelligent, the more information of outer environments and vehicle itself are needed accordingly. The sensor devices are responsible of detecting those information and transferring them to the main processor of the system. Among them, ESC is the vehicle stabilizing system by using brake force. In ESC system, Sensor Cluster is very important sensor module responsible of measuring the yaw rate and lateral acceleration motion of the vehicle. Sensor Cluster mainly comprises of yaw rate sensor, acceleration sensor, and micro-controller. In the transimission processof measured signals by yaw rate sensor and acceleration sensor, one of the most important requirements is cutoff frequency requirement within the limited time and tolerable performance after processing sensor signals through the microprocessor. In this paper, the efficient method of designing the appropriate digital filter satisfying the requirements was presented and FIR and IIR filter were implemented and compared to the end.
