As one of Child Restraint System(CRS), child seats are widely used. In this paper, the dynamic simulation of child seat was carried out with the LS-DYNA software, and the results from dynamic simulation were compared to the sled test The comparison between the simulation and sled test showed a good agreement, and the results are applied for the improved design of 6-point belt type CRS.

In this paper, a study is described on finding a relationship between discomfort and body pressure distribution. In the first step, experiments were conducted to find correlation between pressure distribution and discomfort. The experiments of 12 people on 9 seats were performed. In the second step, parameters and correlation coefficients were determined between the measured body pressure distribution and median values of the subjective evaluations of 12 subjects using psychophysical power law.

This paper compares seat vibrations of four type passenger car. The results also include the comparison of the human body accelerations and the ride values, such as the component ride values, and SEAT values of 12 axis accelerations obtained at the human body and seat track. The ride comfort evaluation is usually carried out by experiments of real cars which are expensive and sometimes may contain errors by passenger's postures. Simulations by computer, on the other hand, enable to solve these problems when the accuracy is proven. In this paper, also shows the correlation of human body vibration between experiments and computer simulations. For the computer simulator, Korean dummy models are developed from the Hybrid Ⅲ models by scaling the body data of Hybrid Ⅲ to those of Korean men and women.

In design stage of vehicles, the application of virtual durability analysis techniques enables us to cut down the necessary time and cost to carry out various physical experiments. In this study, computer simulations of vehicle suspensions were carried out with DADS program including component flexibility, and the durability analysis of vehicle components was executed with MSC/Fatigue program using the load history obtained from vehicle dynamic simulation. Driving test of a vehicle was also carried out to obtain precise input data for the durability analysis, and the results of virtual durability analysis were compared to those of experiments.

In this paper, computer simulations using MADYMO software and real experiments are compared to match the ride comport in passenger cars. For the real experiments air cells which can control air pressure are installed in the seat cushion to adjust seat properties. SEAT(Seat Effective Amplitude Transmissibility) values are calculated to choose optimum air cell pressure from the real experiments. Measuring SEAT values according to road conditions, vehicle speeds and air pressures from the real car experiments, the optimum air cell pressure was suggested depending on vehicle speed and road condition. The SEAT values from the real car experiment compared to those of the MADYMO simulation with Korean dummy model.

As one of Child Restraint System(CRS), child seats are widely used. In this paper, an optimization of a 6-point belt type child seat was carried out with the ANSYS software. The 6-point belt type CRS is divided into several subregions and optimized. The design procedures to develop new child seats are arranged.

In this paper, a new bushing model for vehicle dynamics analysis using Bouc-Wen hysteretic model is proposed. Bushing components of a vehicle suspension system are tested to capture the nonlinear behavior of rubber bushing elements using the MTS 3-axes rubber test machine. The results of the tests are used to define parameters in Bouc-Wen bushing model, which was employed to represent the hysteretic characteristics of the bushing. Bushing parameters are obtained by using genetic algorithms and sensitivity analysis of parameters are also carried out . ADAMS program was used for the identification process and VisualDOC program was employed to find the optimal parameters. A half-car simulation was carried out to show the usefulness of the developed bushing model.
