As automotive industry advance quickly, the most important key-word of future automobile is ‘Personalization’. Door opening system need to be changed to secure efficient interior space. To satisfy needs of customer and respond autonomous car, we propose B-Pillar-Less and Coach door opening system. In this paper we suggest solution to overcome rear door opening sequence problems of Pillar-less and Coach door system. At the same time we present improved structure to make up performance of impact and NVH. Also we study three kinds of technique to secure side interior trim competitive for customer. We introduce ‘Door Folding System’ that is composed Rod and Location guide to meet our technology. This system allow to door opening system unrelated sequence and upgrade impact performance by connecting Roof and Side-Seal. According to apply diffusible ventilation system for door trim and multiple map pocket concept and multi-axis armrest table, we suggest value improvement plan of side interior system. This approach allow our company to be First-Mover from Fast-Follower.

As automotive industry advance quickly, the most important key-word of future automobile is ‘Personalization’. The air conditioning system also needs to shift away from familiarity and into a new paradigm to apply an efficient indirect ventilation system. To satisfy needs of customer and respond autonomous car, we propose diffusible ventilation system for door trim. In this paper we suggest solution to overcome problems of direct type air conditioning system and limited package of EV platform. In order to implement this technology, we present blower type that have separate intake devices so that they can be applied to various vehicle types. Also we set five major performance factors and set goals through the analysis of air transfer logic. We conducted a preliminary analysis and evaluated the samples based on the analysis results. Through this, various problems were identified and improvement plans were established. After evaluating the final products, it was confirmed that all five major performance factors were satistied. We also establish technical guide about important design factors for general reference. This approach allow our company to be First-Mover from Fast-Follower.

In the development period of interior plastic parts of vehicle, the heat cycle test is an essential procedure to be confirmed. It is important to obtain the material properties for thermal deformation analysis under the various temperature conditions. Especially, creep data of plastic material was introduced to study the time-dependent deformation behavior of the pillar trim in heat cycle test. The time-hardening version of the power-law creep model was applied to account for the permanent deformation after heat cycle test, verified through the comparison of test result with FEA result for simple model. In this study, we also developed a methodology to design the rib pattern of A-pillar trim. Nonlinear finite element analysis has been implemented and integrated with sensitivity analysis method to minimize the thermal deformation at the areas of interest.

Interior parts composed of plastic usually deform under the various temperature conditions. It is necessary to obtain the material properties for thermal deformation analysis under the heat cycle test. Specially, creep data of plastic material was introduced to study the time-dependent deformation behavior of the pillar trim in heat cycle test. In this study, a methodology was developed for the optimum design of the A-pillar trim with mount position. The analyzed results were used to approximate a function which was constructed using response surface method. Design procedures were repeated to minimize the thermal deformation at the areas of interest.

In general, a sport utility vehicle (SUV) vehicle has a luggage room for loading various loads behind a two-row seat of a hatchback vehicle. The luggage room aims to secure maximum space to accommodate more and larger luggage. In some vehicles, partitions and the like are used to increase usability in order to efficiently use the open space. Many vehicles have separate storage spaces, such as trays, at the bottom of the luggage room in accordance with the drivers usability and in order to facilitate the utilization and convenience of the storage space. The purpose of this study is to develop a new mechanism that provides the intermediate stop function that can be fixed in the hinge without the need for a separate fixed part when the luggage is rotated. Accordingly, it was specified through concept development and analytical design verification, and an evaluation method was developed to verify its usefulness.
