Precise localization heavily relies on the accuracy of its underlying ranging technique. It has been known that the Chirp Spread Spectrum (CSS) defined in the IEEE 802.15.4a provides more dependable ranging accuracy than the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) in the IEEE 802.15.4. This paper examines the accuracy of the CSS-based ranging technique in the indoor/outdoor environments and discovers its consistent inaccuracy in different environments. Next, it proposes an error-correction architecture for the CSS-based ranging technique that exploits the per-environment consistent inaccuracy information and user visiting patterns (represented by weights for each environment).

In this study, the analysis of concrete cracks was conducted with a total of three variables: coatingthickness, oxygen diffusion rate, and reinforced diameter of reinforced concrete structures. Cracksoccurred after about 3, 4, and 6 years at the coating thickness of 30, 40, and 50mm when the coatingthickness was used as a variable, and cracks occurred after about 4, 5, and 10 years at oxygen diffusivityof 2e-9, 2e-11, and 2e-12(m2/s) when the oxygen diffusion rate was used as a variable. In the case ofreinforcing bar diameters, cracks occurred after about 4, 3, and 2 years on the reinforcing bardiameters of D10, D19, and D25.
시멘트 재료의 광물탄산화를 위한 이산화탄소 마이크로버블 배합수 활용성 평가

In this study, the characteristics of cement were analyzed using carbon dioxide microbubble water as a mixed water for mineral carbonation of cement materials. Carbon dioxide reacts with the calcium compound of cement to produce calcium carbonate and affects the initial strength improvement. Therefore, in this study, temperature, air content, thermal analysis, and compressive strength tests were conducted to confirm the reaction between cement materials and carbon dioxide. As a result of the measurement, the reaction between cement and carbon dioxide was confirmed in a specimen using carbon dioxide microbubble water as a mixed water, which affected the initial strength improvement.

주제전문사서제의 도입 여부가 도서의 선정과 대출에 미치는 효과 분석

This study analyzed the difference between the two situations to verify the effectiveness of the book selection by the subject professionals in a academic library. In this, some circulation statistics before and after introduction to subject specialists were compared. Moreover, by using Minitab and t-test, ANOVA among other statistical techniques, 186,435 books selected 3 years before September 2005 and after 3 years and 622,213 circulation statistics about those books in ‘S’ University Library were compared and analysed. The results were as follows: (1) After introduction to the subject librarian, the proportion of books selected by librarians were increased. (2) After introduction to subject reference librarian, the foreign books selected by the faculty and the librarians were statistically significantly increased. (3) By academic field, the academic fields of the books selected by the faculty were significantly increased, but the academic fields of the books selected by the students were significantly decreased. 본 연구는 대학도서관에서 주제전문사서제에 의한 도서선정의 효과를 입증하기 위하여 주제전문사서제도가 도입되기 이전과 이후에 선정된 개별 도서에 대한 대출 현황을 조사하여 그 효과성의 차이를 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 조사대상이 된 S대학교 도서관에서 주제전문사서제도를 도입한 2005년 9월을 기점으로 이전과 이후 3년씩 총 6년 동안에 선정된 도서 186,435권에 대한 총 대출 현황(622,213권)을 t-test와 ANOVA를 통하여 검정하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 주제전문사서제의 도입 이후에는 사서에 의한 도서선정의 비율이 높아졌다. 둘째, 주제전문사서제의 도입 이전과 비교하여 도입 이후에는 교수와 사서에 의해 선정된 국외서에 대한 대출이 유의미하게 증가하였다. 셋째, 주제전문사서제의 도입 이전과 비교하여 도입 이후에는 교수가 선정한 도서에 대한 대출 횟수가 유의미하게 증가한 학문분야가 많아진 반면, 학생이 선정한 도서는 대출 횟수가 유의미하게 감소한 분야가 많았다.
6시그마 도구를 활용한 대학도서관 멀티미디어 서비스 개선 변수 도출에 관한 연구

This study analyzed the process of multimedia services and indexed the core quality characteristics through the tools employed in ‘Define’ and ‘Measure’ steps of the 6 Sigma DMAIC methodology. To achieve the goal, as a case study of ‘S’ University Central Library, first, brainstorming technique was used to tap the librarians, second, interview with the half-time student workers, third, user’s opinion on homepage was analyzed and lastly, the interview with the users. This study also drew some potential causal factors which would likely to affect the multimedia service using Process Map and C&E Diagram. Those factors were prioritized using X-Y matrix and Pareto Chart. This study revealed 14 factors affecting multimedia services: ‘presence/absence of the persons who are in charge of selection’, ‘cycle of selection materials’, ‘presence/absence of seperated multimedia room’, ‘materials arrangement method’, ‘notification of popular materials’, ‘notification of documents arrivals’, ‘methods of noticing new arrivals’, ‘methods of ordering materials’, ‘cycle of checking order status’, ‘types of persons requesting materials’, ‘methods of requesting materials’, ‘checking of the status of the returned materials’, ‘methods of noticing materials in housed’, and ‘methods of ways to return overdue materials’. 본 연구는 6시그마 DMAIC 방법론의 정의(Define)와 측정(Measure) 단계의 기법들을 활용하여 대학도서관 멀티미디어 서비스 개선에 영향을 미치는 주요 변수들을 도출하였다. 이를 위하여 S대학교 중앙학술정보관의 사례를 중심으로 현장 사서들의 브레인스토밍, X-Y Matrix와 특성요인도 작성, 도서관 홈페이지를 통한 이용자 의견 분석, 이용자 인터뷰 등을 통하여 대학도서관 멀티미디어 서비스의 프로세스를 분석하고, 핵심 품질특성을 지표화하였다. 그리고 Process Map과 특성요인도를 통하여 멀티미디어 서비스에 영향을 미치는 잠재원인변수들을 도출하고, 도출한 잠재원인변수를 X-Y Matrix와 Pareto Chart에 의하여 우선순위화하여 멀티미디어 서비스에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인으로 ‘자료 선정 전담자 유무’, ‘자료 선정주기’, ‘독립된 멀티미디어실 운영 유무’, ‘자료 배가 방법’, ‘인기자료 안내 여부’, ‘입수자료 통보 여부’, ‘신간 자료 안내 방법’, ‘구입주문 처리 방법’, ‘주문자료 진행사항 점검 주기’, ‘자료 신청자 유형’, ‘자료 신청 방법’, ‘반납 시 자료 상태 점검 여부’, ‘소장자료 목록 안내 방법’, ‘연체자료 회수방법’의 14개 변수를 도출하였다.

Software update has been regarded as one of fundamental functions in wireless sensor networks. It can disseminate a delta-image between a current software image operating on a sensor node and its new image in order to reduce an update image(transmission data) size, resultantly saving energy. In addition, code-banking capability of micro-controllers can decrease the update image size. In order to maximize the efficiency of the software update, the proposed scheme exploits both the delta-image and the code-banking at the same time. Besides, it additionally delivers a recovery delta-image to properly handle abnormal conditions, such as message corruptions and unexpected power-off during the update.

This study measured the thickness and speculation coefficient of the coating for existing buildings and calculated the diffusion coefficient of the coating to predict the depth of carbonation through numerical analysis in order to evaluate the impact of the external finish and local environment. As a result, it was possible to predict the short-term and long-term carbonation depth of reinforced concrete buildings coated with coating film with considerable reliability.
