Passenger Airbag is one of the important part in instrument panel that is satisfied airbag deployment requirement. Recently, the most of automotive interior parts selects invisible airbag system. So, they use various scoring methods. Especially, laser scoring method is making a continuous hole using laser beam. This method is influenced sensitively by transmittance and absorption of materials. In this study, to find a correlation between component of polymer and laser scoring influence factor. Especially, general purpose used polypropylene filled talc, thermoplastic polyolefin that how to influenced by content of component for laser scoring.

To increasing fuel efficiency, every car maker research and develop parts more lightlyt. For weight reduction of part, we need not only thinner wall design, but also development of high modulus plastic material. This study is about design and material optimization, to apply low density polypropylene filled long glass fiber and rubber for IP structure. We developed 2.8kg IP structure with 20wt% long glass fiber filled high impact and modulus polypropylene and thin wall designed of 1.8~2.5mm.
