Occupant restraint system must be considered the injury level that it is due to the inflator output and seat belt usage at the high / low crash speed. It includes passenger occupant detection system and seat track position sensor (STPS) in order to meet NHTSA proposed new air bag requirements for passenger cars and light truck. This paper suggests airbag threshold determination methodology using CAE tool. Occupant Analysis's main purpose is to determine the initial thresholds, which would optimize speed zone per airbag fire/no-fire and different inflator outputs on the various vehicle crash speed. Crash pulses was from the real crash data at the some testing points such like 10, 15, 19 and 30mph frontal impact and analysis was run per each crash speed from 10mph to 30mph with various restraint conditions. (No restraint, belted only, bag only, belted & bag and inflator high/low output) HIC_IS, chest "g" and 4mph crash tolerance was considered for establishment of threshold between airbag no-fire/fire, inflator high/low output and ACU calibration.<br/> <br/>
