        This study is to observe the effect of Artemisia herb on the mitigation of hair damage when performing permanent wave by classifying general treatment (N) and Artemisia treatment (A) after performing permanent wave by varying the processing time. the findings are as follows after observing the hair thickness, tensile strength, elongation and undamaged hair. As a result, the treatment group A2 which Artemisia herb extract was added showed 0.0422 ± 0.0017 ㎜ which is the thickest among the control group and normal hair. The result of tensile strength showed A2>A1>C>N1>N2 in sequence. Among them, Artemisia herb added group A2 was 141.03 ± 21.91 ㎜ which increased by 32.91% compared to that of the control group C, showing the highest among the experiment groups. In the case of measuring the elongation, general treatment N1 was 163.82 ± 17.14%, preprocessing operation was high. In the case of Artemisia herb treatment, A2 was 148.13 ± 27.89%, postprocessing operation was high. As a result of observing normal hair, cuticle of group c was overall excited with crack, showing the largest damage among all experiment groups. The result of preprocessing experiment group AP of Artemisia herb treatment (A) has regular scale and became smooth due to minimized cuticle swelling. In the case of post processed AA has clear and regular cuticle arrangement and the damage area such as abrasion, peeling was decreased.

      • 애엽 열수추출물의 생리활성에 관한 연구

        In this study, in order to explore whether hair damage by activated oxygen being generated during chemical treatment of hair could be prevented in advance, Artemisiae argi Folium having excellent anti-oxidant effect as a natural substance containing tiny amount of amino acid was used. Hereupon, antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory, and cytotoxicity of Artemisia herb extract were measured. Evaluation was made as follows deriving a conclusion. In DPPH radical scavenging activity based on concentration of 0.2 mg/ml, its activity over 90% equivalent to that of Vit C that is control group was represented. In ABTS scavenging activity based on concentration of 1 mg/ml, a result lower than positive control group was shown but scavenging activity was increased along with increased concentration. Contents of polyphenol and flavonoid was 449.357+/-34.699 μg/㎖and 2.65+/-0.057 μg/ ㎖, respectively. As a result of measuring survival rate by using Raw 264.7 cell in order to determine cytotoxicity status of Artemisiae argi Folium extract, toxicity was not evident in low concentration of such extract. According to aforementioned results, it was confirmed that there was a high chance of availability as hair care cosmetics because of antioxidant effect, cytotoxicity, and anti-bacterial effect of Artemisia herb extract.
