추론을 진행하는 과정에서 생성되는 사실(fact)들과 규칙(rule)들을 그래프 형태로 표현한 그래프 기반의 추론 browser[14]는 지식 공학자로 하여금 일련의 추론 단계들을 쉽게 조사할 수 있도록 하여 지식 베이스를 편리하게 검증할 수 있도록 한다. 그러나, 제시된 추론 browser에서는 추론의 진행 과정이 의도하지 않은 상태에 도달했을 때, 지식 공학자가 직접 화면에 표시된 일련의 추론 단계들을 조사하여 지식 베이스내의 오류들을 찾아내도록 요구하고 있다. 이와 같은 오류 탐지 과정은 지식 베이스의 크기가 커질수록 더욱 어려워지고 부정확하게 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 그래프 기반의 추론 browser가 지식 베이스내의 오류를 자동적으로 찾아낼 수 있도록 하는 자동 검증 모듈을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 자동 검증 모듈은 추론 과정의 진행 상태를 조사하면서 오류적 추론 단계를 탐지하고, 이에 대한 원인을 분석하여 지식 베이스내에서 관련된 오류를 찾아내어 수정한다. We previously suggested a graph-aided inference browser[14] in which the knowledge engineers may easily verify the knowledge bases by consulting the sequence of inferring steps. In the suggested inference browser, however, the knowledge engineers themselves keep trying to find the error in the knowledge bases by checking if the displayed inferring sequence faces the undesirable situation. This error detecting process may be slow and not very accurate as the size of the knowledge base becomes very large. This paper presents one additional module, called the automatic verification module, for the inference browser in which the error detecting process is automatically done. The presented module automatically detects and analyzes the erroneous situation during the inferring process and corrects the associated error in the knowledge bases.
