A series of cleft-type ionophores having two convergent hydroxamic acid functions are prepared and their selective ionophoric properties toward heavy metal and transition metal ions have been investigated. Hydroxamic acids 3 exhibited a prominent selectivity toward heavy metal ions of Hg2+ and Pb2+, and transition metal ions of Cu2+ over other transition metal and alkaline earth metal ions from slightly acidic source phase (pH 6) to an acidic receiving phase (pH 1). Selective ionophoric properties toward Pb2+ and Cu2+ ions over other surveyed metal ions are also confirmed by the FAB-MS measurements.

Background: The purpose of this study is to investigate the needs for wound care services in the elderly care institutions by analyzing hospital-based home care nursing in select facilities in Korea. Methods: A total of 92 staffs at the elderly care institutions, located throughout the country, completed self-report questionnaires between February 1 and November 31, 2009. SPSS ver. 17.0 was used for data analysis, regarding frequency and chi square. The 5% level of significance was the critical level for acceptance of the study's hypotheses. Results: Results were as follows; group A and group B were rated as 'high' and 'very high', respectively, in care of simple pressure ulcer, care of complicated pressure ulcer, stitch out, care of simple surgical wound, ostomy care, complicated ostomy care, simple dressing and complicated dressing. Conclusion: Political decisions intended to promote visits by hospital- based home care nurses to the elderly care institutions would be a prudent course.

The present paper deals with investigation of new method for measuring pressure distribution between a windshield wiper blade and windshield along the entire length of the wiper blade. Knowing the pressure distribution between the windshield and the blade at various positions along the entire length of the blade provides insights into how to improve the cleaning performance of the wiper blade. For this purpose, WBMT system to measure the contact pressure is developed using piezoelectric sensor. Two models of windshield wiper blades are tested using WBMT system. Appropriate contact pressure of wiper blade is suggested by this study. The function of wiper blade has predominantly performed when the pressure is uniformly acted on its surface with longitudinal direction

본 연구에서는 제주도 자생 감귤 17종에 대하여 탈색소효과(depigment effect)를 연구하였다. B16 멜라닌 생성세포(B16 melanoma cell)를 이용하여 tyrosinase 및 멜라닌 생성억제 효과를 연구한 결과 대조군 대비하여 농도 의존적으로 감소하는 3종의 미성숙 온주밀감(immature Citrus unshue), 팔삭(Citrus hassaku), 진지향(Citrus sinensis x reticulata)을 도출하였다. 또한, 이와 같이 도출된 감귤 추출물을 이용하여 멜라닌 세포 생성(melanogenesis)에 영향을 미치는 tyrosinase, DOPAchrome tauto-merase (TRP-2)와 DHICA oxidase (TRP-1) 단백질 발현을 실험한 결과 tyrosinase, TRP-1, TRP-2 단백질 발현이 감소함을 나타내었다. 특히 이들 중 미성숙 온주밀감은 tyrosinase와 TRP-1 단백질 발현에서 유의적으로 감소하는 결과를 보였다. 본 연구 결과로써 미성숙 온주밀감은 모든 실험에서 우수한 효과를 나타내어 UV에 의해서 야기되는 피부 색소 침착을 방지할 수 있는 물질로서 기대할 수 있다. We examined the depigmentation effect on Korean traditional citrus 17 species. With B16 melanoma cells, we have seen inhibition of the tyrosinase and melanin formation, which eventually were dose dependently decreased by three citrus fruits, immature Citrus unshiu, Citrus hassaku, and Citrus sinensis × reticulata as compared with positive control. Also, we examined expression of tyrosinase, DOPAchrome tautomerase (TRP-2), and DHICA oxidase (TRP-1) which affect melanin synthesis. Especially, immature Citrus unshiu decreased the protein levels of tyrosinase and TRP-1. In conclusion, immature Citrus unshue showed the strongest activity in all the experiments mentioned above and we expect that it can be used for preventing UV-induced pigmentation.
전통 콩발효 식품 유래 7, 8, 4'-Trihydroxyisoflavone의 피부 생리활성 연구

10년 이상 자연 발효된 콩 발효 식품에서 희귀 이소플라본 성분인 7, 8, 4'-trihydroxyisoflavone을 분리하였고, 분리된 성분의 항산화 효과를 비효소적인 방법으로는 DPPH 법을, 효소적인 방법으로는 xanthine oxidase법을 이용하여 확인하였다. 그 결과 7, 8, 4'-trihydroxyisoflavone는 농도 의존적으로 비타민 C와 유사한 DPPH 라디칼 소거 효능을 가지고 있음을 보여주었고 6.6 ± 0.4 μM 농도에서 xanthine oxidase에서 생성된 superoxide 라디칼을 50 % 수준까지 낮춤을 보여주었다. 또한, 이 희귀 이소플라본 성분은 UVB로 유도된 MMP-1의 생성을 초기 수준으로 억제하는 것으로 나타나 피부 노화 억제에 유용한 성분임을 확인할 수 있었다. A rare isoflavone, 7, 8, 4'-trihydroxyisoflavone, was isolated from a 10-year-old fermented soybean food. 7, 8, 4'-trihydroxyisoflavone was isolated for the first time from a Korean fermented soybean food. Evaluation tests of biological activity showed significantly inhibition activity for free radical scavenging on both non-enzymatic (DPPH system) and enzymatic method (xanthine oxidase system). DPPH radical scavenging effect of 7, 8, 4'-trihydroxyisoflavone was similar with vitamin C in a dose-dependent manner. In xanthine oxidase (XO) system 7, 8, 4'-trihydroxyisoflavone showed superoxide radical inhibition activity of 50 % at a concentration of 6.6 ± 0.4 μM. Also, the compound significantly suppressed cellular MMP-1 formation. These results suggest that 7, 8, 4'-trihydroxyisoflavone could be developed as a potential preventive or therapeutic agent against skin aging.

L histoire de Don Juan, devenue mythe aujourd hui, est toujours luecomme celle d un séducteur inoubliable. Dans cette étude nous lisons cette histoire en donnant la primauté à la statue du commandeur qui emmène aux enfers ce séducteur, appelé également trompeur ou abuseur, ou fils criminel, athée foudroyé par d autres auteurs. La statue autrement dit pierre, empruntée de plusieurs contes populaires européens constitue une partie essentielle de l histoire de Don Juan. La statue du commandeur, mort, se meut, accepte l invitation d un vivant et même invite ce dernier à son tombeau. Elle interrompt la suite des méfaits du séducteur; son apparition transforme le monde vraisemblable sur scène en monde fantastique. À la différence de ses prédécesseurs Molière a imaginé cette statue comme un être ou une chose indéterminée et mystérieuse. C est vrai que le commandeur avait été tué par Don Juan dans le duel; mais celui-ci a déjà eu grâce de cette affaire. Le commandeur n a donc pas de raison de revenir pour reprocher son tueur. Par ailleurs, soulignant côté blasphématoire dans le caractère de son Don Juan, Molière nous fait considérer la statut comme messager envoyé par le Ciel. Mécréant, Don Juan s appuye sur la connaissance scientifique. La statue bougeant et parlant devrait être un phénomène incompréhensible non seulement pour Don Juan, disons, scientifique, mais également pour les spectateurs, surtout modernes. Mais la statue de commandeur dans l oeuvre de Molière nous donne une grande possibilité de l interprétation de ce rôle indéfinissable et irréfragable.
