무대조명 디자인 수업에 적용 가능한 디자인 방법론 연구 - 디자인 과정의 개념화 및 시각화 단계를 중심으로

The design process has been recognized as an mysterious domain since it is a personal and inner process. An attempt at in-depth discussions about the design process has not been made in even stage lighting books dealing with lighting design processes. Especially the stage of plotting lighting ideas has been superficially dealt with and working stages of design process has not been organized in a systematic way. To remedy these shortcomings, I propose a newly organized design process which is composed of working stages such as script analysis, research, plotting of lighting concept/lighting ideas/ lighting images, drawing lighting scheme, preliminary lighting plot, drafting lighting plot, and lighting paperworks. These working stages are categorized as conceptualization phrase, visualization phrase, and technical phrase according to required capabilities in the design process. While script analysis and research are categorized as conceptualization phrase, lighting scheme and plotting lighting concept and ideas belong to visualization phrase. Preliminary lighting plot, lighting plot, and related paperworks are classified as technical phrase. The categorization by phrase is based on personal abilities required to carry out design processes and will function as evaluation system for design assignment. The discussion on detail working stages in design process starts after the framework for stage lighting design process is organized. Script analysis stage suggests analysis method for structural pattern, character, theme, physical environment, mood that directly affect lighting design. Research stage gives a systematic presentation of types of research required for design process and highlights visual research and image research which have a significant effect on plotting of lighting ideas. The stage of plotting lighting concept, lighting idea, and lighting image is an essential part of design process. A correlation between lighting ideas and dramatic elements such as lighting requirements, environmental information, dramatic action and mood, structural pattern is mentioned in this stage. Lighting scheme stage is the translation process of conceptual/visual images into controllable qualities of light such as intensity, direction, color, texture and so on. It can be an effective means to specifically discuss lighting images for a production, clearly presenting the lighting composition of an lighting idea.

The Streptomyces albulus broth, when the polylysine in the broth, that has powerful growth inhibiting effect far many microbes, is its maximum, had filtered off the cells, to use the broth as preservative for keeping favorable taste of Korean Kimchi. Some microorganisms in their specific growth medium, known to deteriorate the useful nutrient of the Kimchi, has grown with different amounts of the inhibiting broth, to determine the minimum growth inhibition concentration. The ε-poly-L-lysine had been identified from the IR spectroscopic analysis of the purified poly lysine of the broth from ion exchange chromatographic separation. The content of the polylysine had been determined by methyl orange decoloration effect. Though the minimum inhibition concentration, evaluated by the naked eye based on the conventional method measuring the turbid feature after 18 hours of culture, has different values each other, the observed effects confirmed that the crude broth could be used as a natural preservative for the Kimchi in extending the fair taste.<br/>
≪유리 동물원(The Glass Menagerie)≫에 나타난 물리적 환경으로서 시공간 요소와 조명과의 연관성 연구

This study attempts to analyze correlation between physical environments and light in ≪The Glass Menagerie≫ written by Tennessee Williams. To associate the meanings and structure of physical environments with the process of performance design, a scenographic approach is used as an analysis method, This practical approach to theatre productions analyzes structure, characters, theme, mood, and physical environments of the text and conceptualizes the analyzed meanings within a visual/auditory context. Design concepts or ideas that are applicable to realized productions can be conceived through this approach, The major environmental elements in ≪The Glass Menagerie≫ can be mentioned as surroundings of the apartment, the fire escape, the dining room and the living room, seasons, the time of day, and weather. They create diverse layers of meanings through the interaction with dramatic circumstances, moods, mental states of characters, structure of the text. Since the analyzed meanings from the environmental elements provide the conceptual frameworks for stage visualization, they can be used as the materials of lighting visualization. Tom`s family is enclosed by stark and hopeless reality, which is a metaphor of surroundings of the apartment. This surroundings as the expression of `being trapped` are reflected in the formation of lighting concept. The fire escape is functioned as the boundary(or threshold) between the present and the past. In the case of the lighting for the fire escape, designers should make a discrimination between the lighting of present tense and the lighting of past tense. The space layout of dining room and living room enables the dynamic movements of characters that has a strong influence on the rhythms and tempos in each scene. In this case, acting zones where characters stay should be separately lit and lighting should change in accordance with the blocking of characters. The seasons of this text begin in midwinter, end in late spring. To express the seasons by the lighting, designers should be careful of the conceptual contrasts in the temperature, color tones, and atmosphere with regard to the seasons. The time of day such as dusk or evening corresponds to the atmosphere of memory indispensible to the play. By controlling the brightness of lighting elaborately, dim and shadowy lighting effects need to be created. The meeting and romance of Laura and Jim is set in the weather changes before and after a shower. When Laura is forced to meet Jim, her past highschool crush, the weather reinforces Laura`s anxious mind visually and auditorily. Lights coming through the openings such as doors or windows can be very effective in expressing the weather as an external environmental element.
기온과 강수량의 수치모델 격자자료를 이용한 기상관측지점의 월별 군집화

Cluster analysis with meteorological data allows to segment meteorological region based on meteorological characteristics. By the way, meteorological observed data are not adequate for cluster analysis because meteorological stations which observe the data are located not uniformly. Therefore the clustering of meteorological observed data cannot reflect the climate characteristic of South Korea properly. The clustering of $5km{\times}5km$ gridded data derived from a numerical model, on the other hand, reflect it evenly. In this study, we analyzed long-term grid data for temperatures and precipitation using cluster analysis. Due to the monthly difference of climate characteristics, clustering was performed by month. As the result of K-Means cluster analysis is so sensitive to initial values, we used initial values with Ward method which is hierarchical cluster analysis method. Based on clustering of gridded data, cluster of meteorological stations were determined. As a result, clustering of meteorological stations in South Korea has been made spatio-temporal segmentation. 기상자료를 이용한 군집분석은 기상 특성에 근거한 기상 지역의 세분화를 가능하게 하고 군집을 이루는 지형별 기상 특성의 파악을 용이하게 한다. 이때 기상관측자료를 이용한 군집분석은 관측지점의 밀도가 다르기 때문에 우리나라의 기상특성이 고르게 반영되지 못할 수 있다. 반면 수치모델 격자자료는 $5km{\times}5km$ 간격으로 조밀하고 고른 자료의 생산이 가능하므로 우리나라의 기상 특성을 고르게 반영할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 기온과 강수량의 수치모델 격자자료를 이용하여 군집분석을 수행하고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 기상관측지점에 대한 군집을 결정하였다. 기상 특성이 월별로 상이할 수 있기 때문에 군집분석은 월별로 수행하였으며, K-Means 군집분석 방법의 단점을 보완하고자 계층적 군집분석 방법인 Ward 방법과 결합하여 적용하였다. 그 결과 우리나라 기상관측지점들에 대해 시 공간적으로 세분화된 군집화가 이루어졌다.
