A study on aerosol size for sodium combined fires has been performed in the reaction chamber of which can be simulated the behavior of sodium fire aerosol in the containment vessel of LMR(liquid metal reactor). The variables of experiment were the temperature and pressure of injection sodium, the measuring time and position of aerosol. The geometric diameter of aerosol is decreasing with increasing of which are the sodium injection temperature, the sodium injection pressure, and the measuring time of aerosol. And then, the distribution of aerosol is uniform. The geometric diameter of aerosol is insensitive to the reactor radial position, but the geometric diameter of aerosol in reactor bottom is larger than its in the reactor top. The distribution of aerosol is uniform in reactor bottom.
