In recent years, energy prices have soared, which of course have increased costs for railway operators. Simultaneously, the energy market has considerably changed that in most developed countries, it is deregulated, giving railway operators an opportunity to define new ways of using energy. Efficient operation of the railway system is considered as an essential way to energy saving while an efficient management of power level helps to lower the reference subscribed power, giving access to better energy rates. It is studied on the relation between time and force for the energy efficient driving of train in railway when the train is braking according to several slips.

글로벌 경쟁의 가속화와 연구개발 투자의 위험성 증가에 따라 글로벌 개방형혁신에 대한 필요성이 제기되고 있는 가운데, 국제공동연구의 성과라고 할 수 있는 공동 출원 특허에 대한 품질평가를 통해 국제공동연구가 과연 효과적인지를 실증 분석하였다. 최근 들어 국제공동연구에 의한 공동출원 특허의 양은 더욱 가파르게 증가하고 있다. 1990년부터 2010년까지 21년간의 미국특허정보를 분석한 결과, 국제공동연구(international cooperative R&D)는 국내공동연구(domestic cooperative R&D)에 비해 피인용 수, 특허 패밀리 수, 청구항 수 등의 품질지표에서 모두 우수하다는 분석결과를 보여주었다. 국제공동연구에 의해 공동출원된 특허 가운데 가장 높은 품질을 보이는 산업은 IT산업으로 분석되었으며, 바이오산업, 자동차산업 등, 첨단산업 분야에서의 성과가 상대적으로 우수하다는 결과가 도출되었다. 미국특허 데이터베이스를 토대로 국제공동연구의 네트워크 분석을 수행한 결과 매개 중심성이 가장 높은 국가는 미국으로 나타났고, 독일, 영국, 캐나다, 프랑스가 그 뒤를 이었다. Confronted with increasing global competition and rising research and development risks, the global open innovation has receiving increased attention. This study empirically investigates whether or not international cooperative R&D is effective by evaluating the quality indicators with the patents with international co-applications. The number of patents with international co-applications has dramatically increased in recent years. According to the results, the outcome from international cooperative R&D is prominent in term of all the evaluation criteria such as the number of citation, patent families, claims, and et cetera, compared with that from domestic cooperative R&D. Based on the patent quality, the information technology sector holds the top spot and high-tech sectors such as bio and automobile industries show the better quality performances. By identifying high betweeneess centrality in the network analysis of international cooperative R&D, the US is indicated as the most central country in such cooperative activity, and then Germany, the UK, Canada, and France come after.

열차 운전시 최적의 에너지 효율을 얻기 위해서 GA(Genetic Algorithm)를 이용하여 열차 속도 프로파일을 생성하는 알고리즘을 제시하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 유효성을 보였다. 역간의 열차 운전 모드를 최대 역행, 타행, 최대 제동으로 간략화 시키고 타행지점을 조절하여 열차 운전시 소비되는 에너지를 최소화 시키는 방식을 기본으로 하여, 구배가 변동하는 두 역간을 정해진 운전시간 내에 도달하기 위하여 목표운전시간을 이용하여 적합도 함수를 설정한 후, GA 알고리즘을 적용하여 역간 거리와 목표 운전시간의 두 제한요소를 모두 만족시키는 타행 지점들을 결정하였다.

Currently in Korea, neutral sections in front of substations and sectioning posts are greatly divided into AC/DC sections and AC/AC sections. Considering catenary damage and safety issues trains pass crossover by coasting driving at notch-off. However in cases of Japan, China, or Taiwan, the usage of automatic crossover system makes it possible to pass at notch-on , enhancing high-speed railway operation for efficiency, and stability. These are the purposes of developing automatic power crossover system in neutral sections. This paper introduces two methods to detect the position of a train required to activate automatic crossover systems in neutral sections. The optimal method is expected in terms of the distance of neutral section.

This paper is focused on introducing an energy efficient vehicle operation pattern through a vehicle TPS(Train Performance Simulator) using Matlab which is based on accelerating a vehicle at a fixed distance with gradient until acceleration reaches a certain value then alters coasting and deceleration of the vehicle considering the direction and amount of the gradient.

This paper utilizes previously GA(Genetic Algorithm) to optimize energy efficiency during train operation. Application of this algorithm sets optimized locations for changing driving modes (Powering, Coasting, Breaking) of train. The driving support system simulates and combines various situations of operating between two certain stations and displays results to the driver. The proposed system is designed to support drivers in energy conservative driving to achieve optimum energy efficiency.

Growing tremendously each year both domestically and internationally, the biosensor market is expected to provide its products to a variety of fields including medicine, environment, food, industry, and arms. In particular, demand from the medical field is expected to increase considerably. The global biosensor market, which amounted to US$ 1.2 billion in 2001, is expected to amount to US$ 1.7 billion in 2003 and US$ 5 billion in 2005. As for Korea, the domestic biosensor market is still in its infancy and it amounted to ₩ 5 billion in 2001 and ₩ 7 billion in 2002. It is expected to amount to ₩ 30 billion in 2005, however, thus showing a high growth rate at an annual average of 56%. Global manufacturers and distributors of biosensors mainly include multinational corporations such as Abbott Laboratories, F. Hoffman-La Roche, Ltd., Johnson & Johnson, i-STAT Corp., Bayer, Therasense, Inc., Biacore, and Arkray, Inc.. While Korean counterparts including All Medicus Co., Ltd. and Infopia Co., Ltd. likewise manufacture biosensors, they have been able to market their products and to have competitiveness only recently, thanks to the efforts of numerous corporations and universities over the past several years. However, imported products take up as much as 90% of the domestic biosensor industry, thus necessitating appropriate responses such as Korean corporations?O active technological R&D and expanded product marketing. In addition, small and user-friendly biosensors with high testing stability, outstanding data processing capability, varied analytical capability, and long product life are needed. Consumers are interested in not only technological levels but also ease of measurement, real-time measurement, measurement time reduction, improved sensitivity and reliability, and long product life. It is thus important to develop biosensor that meet such customer demands.
