This study showed the selective separation of Cs and Sr on the inorganic ion-exchanger zeolites such as clinoptilolite, Y-type CBV760, CBV780 and A-type 3A. The selective separation of Cs and Sr on these zeolites was examined using batch and continuous column experiments. For the selective separation of Cs and Sr from a synthetic wastewater, adsorption rate of Cs increased in the order, clinoptilolite>3A>CBV760>CBV780, adsorption rate of Sr increased in the order, 3A≫clinoptilolite>CBV760>CBV780. The adsorption behaviour of Cs and Sr on these zeolites was met with the Freundlich adsorption isotherm well. On the continuous experiments, the clinoptilolite breakthrough curves of Cs and Sr were independent of column temperature, keeping same breakthrough curve patterns. Sr adsorbed on 3A could be efficiently eluted with 0.05M EDTA, yielding the recovery over 96%.
