Design modification strategy about seat frame is proposed in order to enhance the comfortability of vehicle system by reducing the vibration of seat frame under vehicle idle status. To modify the design with a minimum margin, a design sensitivity analysis is introduced to identify the most sensitive location using the experimental response data only. After obtain the excitation condition of idling vehicle in experiment, the laboratory test was conducted for the target seat frame using a multi-axial simulation table (MAST) to regenerate the excitation condition seamlessly. The experiment was tested in 2 different environmental conditions; The first was the excitation condition under the idle status and the other was the random excitation condition with changing frequency up to 100Hz which is the major frequency of vehicle. 24 points of interest was selected at the target seat frame and measured response acceleration simultaneously with respect to two testing modes. Using the measured acceleration data, the sensitivity index for all interesting points were calculated and design modification guideline for seat frame was derived under different frequency points including the idling case, 21Hz.
