Objective: Large loop excision of transformation zone(LLETZ) is gaining popularity as an alternative to other ablative or cone methods for the treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN). The optimal management of CIN after LLETZ, however, remains controversial and the reliable predictors of residual disease after LLETZ have not been consistently identified. This study was performed to identify factors to predict residual disease after LLETZ. Methods: From August 1993 to July 1995, 133 patients who received subsequent hysterectomy after LLETZ in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Seoul National University Hospital were retrospectively reviewed. Residual disease was defined as positive findings of CIN or further advanced findings in hysterectomy specimen. The age of patients, the severity of disease and the status of resection margin(RM) were analyzed for predictive values of residual disease. The Chi-square test, Fisher's exact test and Student t-test were used for statistical analysis. Results: The residual disease after hysterectomy was negative in 85.7%(114/133) and positive in 14.3%(19/133). Among 19 cases with positive residual disease, 3 cases were revealed to be microinvasive cervical cancer. The mean age of patients with no residual disease was 42.5 years(range; 27-71) and that of patients with residual disease was 49.1 years(range; 33-72). Nine out of 94 cases(9.6%) with negative RM and 10 out of 39 cases(25.6%) with positive RM in LLETZ had residual disease. Two out of 14 cases(14.3%) with CIN II and 17 out of 119 cases(14.3%) with CIN III in LLETZ had residual disease. The success of LLETZ which means no residual disease was influenced by the age of patients(p=0.005) and the status of resection margin of LLETZ(p=0.032). Conclusion: The negative resection margin in LLETZ does not always guarantee that there is no residual disease. Close preoperative workup and more aggressive treatment plan(wide conization or hysterectomy) should be considered in patients who has higher possibility of positive residual disease such as old age and positive resection margin in LLETZ.

This article aims at researching appellation of the Korean classical novel's hero. The Korean classical novel is similiar to western Romance in character. In this sense, hero is created as a man of unusual ability not an ordinary man of this world. The first intention of this article is to find conventional fromula in the way of the characterization through examination of novels. Therefore, main issue of this article is to search the methods of appellation and the relation between Taoistic Imagination through. In the Korean classical novels, hero's name has deep correlation with title of the novel. Though the title's simbolate meaning of novels, the novelists borrowed a modality of signification as a way of hero's characterization. Hence, the point of this article is to analyze episode in one's pregnant dream. In those analysis, the origin of the Korean classical novel is systematized. Taoistic Imagination of that system is materialization of "Conception of stars". "Conception of spiritual animals". That would be our ancestor's deep state which has concrete relation with Taoism.
분산보상 광섬유를 이용한 초고속 단일모드 광섬유 전송링크의 최적 설계 연구

본 논문은 기존 표준 단일모드 광섬유 링크를 통하여 초고속 광신호의 장거리 전송이 가능하도록 분산보상 광섬유를 이용한 최적 분산보상 기법에 기반을 둔 전송링크 설계 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법에서는 광섬유의 비선형성에서 비롯되는 자기위상변조(Self-Phase Modulation: SPM)와 광증폭기에서 발생하는 증폭자연방출(Amplified Spontaneous Emission : ASE) 잡음에 대하여 증폭기간 거리와 중계기간 거리를 최적화함으로써 전송신호 속도에 따른 최대 전송거리를 제시하였다. 또한 주어진 증폭기간 거리와 중계기간 거리에 대하여 ASE 잡음과 SPM의 효과의 균형적 관계로부터 최적의 입력 신호전력의 범위가 있음을 제시하였다. This paper proposes an optical transmission link design method based on an optimum compensation scheme using dispersion compensating fiber (DCF), so that high-speed long-distance optical transmission would be possible over the conventional standard single mode fiber (SMF) link. The proposed design method provides the maximized transmission distances according to the signal speeds, where the amplifier spacing and repeater spacing are optimized wit respect to self-phase modulation(SPM) due to fiber nonlinearity and amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noises caused by optical amplifies. It is also shown that there exists an optimum input signal power range balancing the effects of ASE noise and SPM for the given amplifier spacing and repeater spacing.

The revision of the parliamentary law in 2000 makes the Korean National Assembly do more work than before.But it is not true in reality. This paper analyzes the contents of the parliamentary law which was revised in 16.2.2000.In this analysis we find that many things can be strengthened for the future of the Korean National Assembly. In this context, it is more appropriate for Korean National Assembly to spend more of its time clarifying its legislative intent and on oversight activity and less of its time on other trivial things such as "pork-barrel" politics.However, the Korean National Assembly will not suddenly change its practice.Assembly will not suddenly change its practice.Therefore, possibilities for fruitful research to increase the vitality of the Korean National Assembly are abundant.
Paecilomyces japonica의 반복투여가 랫드에 미치는 영향

Cordyceps is a fungus used as a traditional medicine in China, Japan, and Korea. Paecilomyces (P.) japonica is a new cordyceps that was recently cultivated on silkworm pupae in Korea. The present study evaluated the toxicological effects of P. japonica in rats. Forty rats were treated with oral doses of P. japonica (0, 20, 100, or 500 mg/kg/day) for 4 weeks. Twenty additional rats were treated with 0 or 500 mg/kg/day of P. japonica for 4 weeks and then maintained for 2 weeks without treatment. Clinical signs, body weight, food and water consumption, and organ weight as well as hematology, serum biochemistry, and histopathology data were examined. Body weight gain of the group treated with 500 mg/kg/day was significantly reduced. Microscopically, karyomegaly, single cell necrosis, and mitosis were observed in the renal tubular epithelium of all treated groups. In conclusion, P. japonica caused a reduction of body weight and renal injury in rats. The no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) of P. japonica was less than 20 mg/kg/day.
