A spectrophotometic determination of citric acid was studied using dicychohexylcarbodiimide (D.C.C) as a reagent. Citric acid was reacted with D.C.C to form active O-acyl derivative which gradually changed, yellowish coloured, inactive N-acyl derivative. Optimum conditions for quantitative analysis were investigated spectrophotometrically and the structure of N-acyl derivative was estimated by IR, NMR spectra and cryoscopic method. Molar ratio(1:3) and M.W. (803) were measured. Since N-acyl derivative was readiliy hydrolyzed in hydrous solvent, the acylation must be proceeded in the anhydrous solvent, N,N-dimethylformamide(D.M.F). The linear calibration curve of citric acid were obtained in the range from 420 to 480 ㎍/ml with λ? 430 nm (ε=2040) and from 9 to 25 ㎍/ml with λ? 290nm (ε=25680). A characteristic feature of this method is that citric acid can be determined even in presense of various carboxylic acid and amino acid.
Volhard間接法으로 鹽素이온 定量時 Nitrobenzene添加의 再考察

In the precipitation titration, the indirect method of Volhard has been commonly adopted in the determination of chlorine ion. This method has been extensively employed by the Korean Pharmacopoeia in the determination of chloride compound. Since silver chiloride is more soluble than silver thiocyanate, silver chloride is removed by filtration, and the excess silver nitrate is back titrated with ammonium thiocyanate. Later, Caldwell modified this process by adding a small amount of nitrobenzene to the suspension. In order to search for better reagent than nitrobenzene, the author tested five different organic substances, nitrobenzene, benzene, ethyl ether, pertroleum ether and carbon teatrachloide. It was found that petroleum ether is most effective in coating silver chiloride. The effect of carbon tetrachloride and benzene are shown to be similar to that of nitrobenzene.

Modeling a circulatory system is difficult because of the low accuracy occurred from the conversion of medical information into computational data. There have been many efforts to increase the accuracy of medical image conversion such as the development of half-way boundary condition or high-order boundary condition. However, thses two methods still does not reflect the actual position of medical image data. In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed to calculate the wall boundary more accurately by using ghost node. This new method will reduce errors through the interpolation of the medical image into simulation data by controlling the weighting factor. The purpose of this paper is to increase the accuracy of the medical image conversion and establish more blood flow modeling. also we can support diagnosis of vessel diseases through realistic modeling.
Ascorbic Acid의 分光光度 定量法에 關한 硏究(第一報)

A new spectroscopic method was established for the determination of ascorbic acid with indole as a reagent. Indole was reacted with ascorbic acid to form complex compound if the presence of Cu(Ⅱ) ion. The maximum absorbance of the complex compound was at 480nm. Various conditions, (eg, PH, amounts of reagents, temperature of reactants and standing time) were investigated for the maximum colour intensity. Calibration curve for ascorbic acid was linear over a sample of each ascorbic acid in the range of 100㎍/ml. Extinction coefficient was measured, ε=12,592.
