In this paper, lithium-ion-polymer battery based standalone photovoltaic energy storage is presented, conventional system was difficult to choose bi-directional DC-DC converter because of unbalanced voltage of batteries. The other side, lithium-ion-polymer battery hardly contains unbalanced voltage between each batteries. And Lithium Polymer Battery is clean battery because is doesn't contain heavy metals such as Nickel, Cadmium. We analyzed validity of algorithms according to load pattern for the system through the simulation and experimental results.

A dc/dc converter for low voltage of battery application and fuel cell system is required to step up and regulate the low and widely variable voltage. In this paper, we have proposed a soft switching boost converter with high voltage gain using a single switch. Through the theoretical analysis and experimental result, operation modes and characteristics of the proposed topology is verified.

In this paper, bi-directional DC/DC converter using a LC series resonant converter is proposed. A proposed converter is consisted by adding LC series resonant tank into a conventional bi-directional DC/DC converter and performs soft-switching at both boost and buck mode. A LC series resonance occurs in whole operation mode and switching point is determined by specific condition. Through the theoretical analysis and simulation results, operation modes and characteristics of the proposed topology is verified.

In this paper, the bi-directional soft switching DC-DC converter using ZCT(Zero Current Transition) method is proposed for using battery application system. This topology is composed of soft switching bi-directional buck/boost converter having the ZCT auxiliary circuit with two switches, two resonant capacitors, one resonant inductor. Therefore, the proposed topology can reduce switching loss. To verify the validity of the proposed topology, theoretical analysis and simulation results are presented.

This paper proposes a soft switching boost converter with an auxiliary circuit. This circuit helps a main switch operate as a soft switching. The main switch operates ZVS turn-on and ZVS turn-off. And the auxiliary switch operates ZCS turn-on and ZVS turn-off. In this paper, operation modes are analyzed and soft switching operation is verified through simulations.

In this paper, a fault detection algorithm for an UPS operation of power station is proposed. By adapting the algorithm, a grid-connected power station performs a UPS operation when faults such as sag, swell are occurred. Through a computer simulation, grid faults are simulated and the proposed fault detection algorithm using d, q axis observation method is verified.
