      • 솔-젤공정에 의해 기공보정된 한외알루미나 여과막의 기체투과 특성평가

        서로 다른 입자크기의 3층구조를 갖는 튜브형태의 한외알루미나 분리막은, 일반적으로 제조공정중 분리층에 결손부분이 발생하기 때문에 낮은 선택도 및 제거율을 보인다. 이와같은 결손부분을 보정 하고 보정전, 후의 분리막에 대한 기체장치에 의한 투과도(permeability) 및 선택도(selectivity)를 측정하였다. Colloidal silica 솔의 deposition에 기인하여 기체 투과율의 감소가 60%였다. 한외알루미나 여과막의 보정에 있어서 습도조절에 의한 선택적 적심법은 비록 deposition에 의한 문제점을 내포하고 있으나, 기체분리에서도 효과적인 방법이다. The 3-layer tubular type alumina membrane consisting of different pore size shows the decreased selectivity and rejection because of cracks in the separation layer generally occurred during the manufacturing process. For the comparing of native and modified membranes, the modified membranes were tested by permeability by gas equipments, selectivity for the gases after caulking. The permeabilities are decreased 60% for the gas caused by deposition of colloidal silica sol after caulking. In conclusion, the Alternative Wetting Method by humidity control had the effect for the modification of ultrafiltration alumina membrane for separation of gases, though having problem of deposition.

        고체 수소이온 전도체를 이용한 중온형 연료전지 개발

        청정에너지의 중요성이 부각됨에 따라 수소연료를 활용한 고효율, 무공해 전력 공급원인 연료전지에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 연료전지는 전기화학 반응에 의한 화학에너지를 직접 전기에너지로 변환시키는 장치로 자동차, 우주항공, 산업 및 가정용 발전 등에 적용할 수 있는 잠재력이 있다. 최근 재료 및 에너지 변환공정 차원에서 바람직한 $200{\sim}500^{\circ}C$의 온도범위에서 작동하는 중온형 연료전지에 대한 새로운 인식과 이 온도범위에서 사용 가능한 수소이온 전도성 물질의 개발 필요성이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문은 고체 수소이온 전도체의 특성과 기술 현황을 소개하고, perovskite형 고체 무기 산화물을 이용한 중온형 연료전지 응용에 관한 연구에 대하여 고찰하였다. Because of an emerging importance of clean energy, fuel cells are attract more attention due to their ability to produce high efficient power without any harmful emission. Fuel cells are energy conversion device with directly convert chemical energy into electrical energy by the chemical reactions, which have potential applications in automobile, spacecraft, stationary, industrial and home appliances. Recently there are gaining demand to develop an intermediate temperature fuel cell and available proton conductors at $200{\sim}500^{\circ}C$, which promising operating temperatures range for both material science and energy conversion processes. In this paper, we have reviewed electrochemical properties and current technology of solid state proton conductors. In addition, development of intermediate temperature fuel cell using the perovskite-type solid protonic conductor is also discussed.

        Thromboembolic Event Detected by Diffusion Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging After Coil Embolization of Cerebral Aneurysms

        Objective : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the occurrencerate of diffusion positive lesions (DPLs), and to assess the peri-proceduralrisk factors for the occurrence of DPLs in patients who underwent coilembolization of cerebral aneurysms. Materials and Methods : A total of 304 saccular aneurysms were embolizedduring a seven-year period from Jan 2007 to Dec 2013. Of these,postoperative diffusion-weighted images were obtained in 186 procedures. There were 100 ruptured aneurysm and 86 unruptured aneurysms. Thecoiling procedures were as follows: simple coiling in 96, balloon assistedcoiling (BAC) in 39, and stent assisted coiling (SAC) in 51 aneurysms. Clinical, angiographic and procedural factors were analyzed in relation tothe occurrence of DPLs. Results : Overall, DPLs were observed in 50.5%. In unruptured aneurysms,DPLs occurred in 23.5% of BAC, 41.9% of SAC and 57.7% of simple coiling(p = 0.08). Among ruptured aneurysms, DPLs occurred in 63.6% of BAC,62.5% of SAC and 54.3% of simple coiling (p = 0.71). DPLs had a tendencyto increase in ruptured aneurysms compared with unruptured aneurysms(57% vs. 43%, p = 0.077). Logistic regression analysis revealed that age > 55years was the only independent risk factor for the occurrence of DPLs. Conclusion : DPLs occured more frequently in ruptured aneurysm and atan older age. Although most DPLs are asymptomatic, careful manipulationof cerebral or extracerebral arteries using various endovascular devices isimportant to reducing the occurrence of DPLs. BAC appeared to reduceoccurrence of TE events in patient with unruptured aneurysm.

        Ligamentum Flavum Cyst of Lumbar Spine: A Case Report and Literature Review

        Ligamentum flavum cysts have rarely been reported and known to be the uncommon cause of spinal compression and radiculopathy. A 63-year-old man presented right sciatica lasting for 1 month. Lumbar computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated an extradural cystic mass adjacent to the L5-S1 facet joints. Partial hemilaminectomy and flavectomy at the L5-S1 space were performed, and then the cystic mass was excised. Histopathology confirmed a connective tissue cyst, which is consistent with the ligamentum flavum. Microscopic examination of the cyst wall revealed that it is closely packed collagen fibril. The symptom of patient was improved after surgery. Because of rarity of ligamentum flavum cysts and nonspecific clinical and radiologic findings, the preoperative diagnosis is not easy. The histologic featuresof ligamentum flavum cysts are distinct from other cystic lesion of lumbar spine. This study presents a case and literature review of ligamentum flavum cyst. We summarize the pathophysiology, occurrence, differential diagnosis of rare ligamentum flavum cyst, especially on lumbar spine.

      • 감초로부터 글리시리진의 추출 및 정제

        시장에서 구입한 감초를 70∼80℃의 물에 하루 동안 담가두어 감초내의 혼합 성분들을 추출한 후, 글리시리진이외의 성분들(sugars, starches, flavonoids, saponoids, aminoacids, gums and essential oil 등)이 에탄올에 용해되는 성질을 이용하여 글리시리진만을 선택적으로 분리해내기 위하여 에탄올 및 에탄올/아세트산 혼합액(99:1)을 각각 사용하였다. 글리시리진의 정성 및 정량분석은 HPLC(Waters 600 controller)를 사용하였다. 사용된 column은 μbondapak C??, 이동상은 물/아세트산/아세트나이트릴을 61:1:38로 만들어 유속 1.5㎖/min.을 적용하였다. 글리시리진 표준물질은 일양약품에서 제공한 글리시리진 암모늄염을 사용하였다. 정제 효과를 알아보기 위해 감초에서 물로 추출한 경우, 에탄올로 처리한 경우, 그리고 에탄올/아세트산(99:1) 혼합액으로 처리한 경우의 각각에 대한 글리시리진 함량을 비교 분석한 결과 순서대로 22.4%, 25.0% 및 29.5%로 나타났다. Glycyrrhizin was extracted from Glycyrrhiza uralensis(Licorice) with water at 70~80℃ for 24hours. To remove another components(usually sugars, starches, flavonoids, saponoids, aminoacids, gums, and essential oil etc.), extracted glycyrrhizin was purified with ethanol or ethanol/acetic acid (99:1). HPLC was used to quantitative and qualitative analysis. The colume used was μ bondapak C??(Waters) and mobile phase was water/acetic acid/acetonitrile(61:1:38) with 1.5㎖/min. flow rate. The amounts of glycyrrhizin Prepared after extracted by water, ethanol and ethanol/acetic acid(99:1) were 22.4%, 25.0% and 29.5% individually.

        Effects of Millimeter Wave Treatment on the Germination Rate and Antioxidant Potentials and Gamma-aminobutyric Acid of the Germinated Brown Rice

        Many studies have been conducted to promote germination in brown rice in order to improve its nutritional value in terms of enzymes, protein quality, and micronutrient content. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of millimeter wave on germination. Millimeter wave is a form of electromagnetic radiation with frequency between 30 and 300 GHz, and is also called ‘biomicrowave’. Millimeter wave significantly stimulated germination. Total polyphenol content and DPPH radical scavenging activity also increased, especially at high frequency and prolonged dose. However, γ-aminobutyric acid content was diminished.
