In 1930's, capitalism gradually became established in Chosun. As Chosun's economy was incorporated into the global capitalistic system, the domestic economy became dependent on the international market. During this time, Kyeong-Seong was transformed into a capitalistic city. Various forms of modern facilities appeared, while urban consumerism constituted the city life. Thus, the everyday life in Kyeong-Seong demanded the acceptance of modern culture in order to adapt to the changing environment. Inside the city, people experienced modern civilization and urban consuming life, and came to adjust their form of living and their viewpoint of the world. This thesis examines the advertisement and text that appears in the newspapers, magazines, and other journalistic material of the thirties in order to determine how the commercials, romance, hobby or entertainment, and the newly discovered "pastoral" influenced the contemporary life and mind. Also, we intend to reveal how these factors took form in the contemporary literature. The contemporary Korean writers were inevitably surrounded by the popular and urban sensibility mentioned above. Even though unconsciously, or sometimes through negative criticism, this sensibility was included in their text. Even the nature that was considered to be a replacement of the desolate and inhuman city life was in fact a filtered form of nature - an image constructed by the popular culture and advertisements. Also, the romance described by the sensitive authors often took the form of a consumer love. Meanwhile, judging from the penetration of commercial statements which appears in several works, there was a growing desire to consume the image. Along with the newly adapted hobbies and leisure culture, the Korean life style went through a significant change, and so did the content of the contemporary novels. The urban sensibility formed in Kyeong-seong during the nineteen thirties can be defined as the common popular sensibility attained by people living in a capitalistic consuming culture. It is attitude of setting the commercial image as a model of life, and is the search of individual life in the standardized and uniform life style of the popular culture. Whether they chose to criticize it or saturate themselves in it, the contemporary writers were unavoidably related to this sensibility and life style.
Modelling and Transient Analysis of a 3-Phase Multi-Layer HTS Coaxial Cable using PSCAD/EMTDC

3상 다층 고온 초전도 동축 케이블은 초전도 선재 사용량의 감소 및 케이블의 소형화와 같은 이점 때문에 활발히 연구되고 있다. 3상 다층 고온 초전도 동축 케이블의 전기적 특성은 기존 초전도 케이블과 차이를 가지므로 실제 시스템에 적용하기 위해 충분한 분석이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 PSCAD/EMTDC 기반 시뮬레이션을 통하여 22.9 kV, 60 MVA급 3상 다층 고온 초전도 동축 케이블을 모델링하고 과도 특성을 분석하였다. 결과적으로 3상 다층 고온 초전도 동축 케이블에서 고장전류가 발생하면 대부분의 고장전류가 구리 포머층을 통해 우회한다. 이때, 케이블 전체 온도는 약 5 K증가하였다. 본 논문을 통해 3상 다층 고온 초전도 동축 케이블의 과도 상태에 대한 신뢰성을 확인할 수 있으며 향후 케이블의 실 계통 적용에 도움이 될 수 있다. Three-phase multi-layer high temperature superconducting coaxial (TPMHTSC) cable is being actively studied due to advantages such as the reduction of the amount of superconducting wire usage and the miniaturization of the cable. The electrical characteristics of TPMHTSC cables differ from those of conventional superconducting cables, so sufficient analysis is required to apply them to the actual system. In this paper, the authors modeled 22.9 kV, 60 MVA TPMHTSC cable and analyzed the transient characteristics using a PSCAD/EMTDC-based simulation. As a result, when a fault current flows in TPMHTSC cable, most of the fault current is bypassed through the copper former layers. At this time, the total cable temperature increased by about 5 K. Through this study, we can verify the reliability of the TPMHTSC cable against the transient state, and it can be helpful for the practical application of the cable in the future.
제주도 자생 제주아그배 (Malus micromalus Makino) 추출물의 항산화와 항염증 활성

본 연구는 제주에 자생하고 있는 제주아그배의 생리활성, 즉 항산화 효과와 항염 효과를 알아보고자 수행하였다. 제주 아그배의 항산화 활성을 측정하고자 비교 분석한 결과, 제주 아그배 에탄올 추출물 (DPPH 소거활성 IC50 값, 16.1 μg/mL; NO 소거활성 IC50 값, 901.2 μg/mL; superoxide 소거활성 및 Xanthine oxidase 억제 활성 IC50 값, 42.5 μg/mL, 2.7 μg/mL) 은 좋은 항산화 활성을 보였고, 그 분획물 중에서는 에틸아 세테이트 분획물이 항산화 활성 실험 모두에서 높은 소거 활성을 나타내었다. 따라서 항산화 활성이 좋은 제주아 그배의 추출물의 항염증 효과를 탐색하기 위하여 대식 세포 모델을 이용하였다. LPS로 자극한 마우스 대식세포인 RAW 264.7 세포에서 NO 활성과 세포독성간의 상대적 비교지수인 선택지수를 이용하여 탐색한 결과 에탄올 추출물과 에틸아세테이트 분획물이 2.9와 12.2로 가장 높은 상대적 NO 생성 억제 활성을 보였다. 그리고 NO 생성 억제율에 대한 IC50 값은 각각 16.7 μg/mL, 4.1 μg/mL으로 나타났다. 이런 결과를 기초로 하여 제주아그배의 에탄올 추출물의 NO 감소가 iNOS 단백질 감소에 의한 것임을 확인한 결과, 시료를 처리한 RAW 264.7 세포에서 iNOS 단백질이 농도 의존적으로 감소하였다. 또한 iNOS 단백질의 억제가 mRNA의 감소로 인한 것인지 조사하고자, RT-PCR 을 통해 iNOS 의 mRNA 발현을 조사한 결과, 단백질과 마찬가지로 농도 의존적인 mRNA 발현 감소를 볼 수 있었다. 제주아그배의 에탄올 추출물을 농도 별로 처리하였을 때 유의적으로 COX-2 단백질과 mRNA 발현이 농도 의존적으로 억제하였다. 분획물 중에서는 NO 활성과 세포 독성간의 상대적 비교지수인 선택지수가 높았던 에틸아세테 이트 분획물이 에탄올 추출물보다도 NO, iNOS, COX-2의 억제 정도가 더 좋은 경향을 나타내었다. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of ethanol extract of Malus micromalus were studied in vitro. Ethanol extract of M. micromalus showed scavenging effects on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and nitric oxide (NO) radicals. In addition, ethanol extract of M. micromalus inhibited the generation of superoxide anion (O2 -) radical and uric acid by xanthine oxidase. We also investigated the effect of ethanol extract of M. micromalus on NO production in a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated murine macrophage RAW 264.7 cells. Ethanol extract of M. micromalus significantly inhibited NO production and this inhibitory action was not due to the cytotoxicity. The expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) was markedly down-regulated by ethanol extract of M. micromalus. These results indicate that the inhibitory action of ethanol extract of M. micromalus on NO production in LPS-stimulated macropages might be due in part to abrogation of iNOS and COX-2 protein induction. Taken together, this study suggests that ethanol extract of M. micromalus could contribute to the chemoprevention and therapy of oxidative stress and inflammation.
Estimation of Measurement Uncertainty in Vitamin D Analysis from Domestic Foods

Contents of vitamin D in domestic foods were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometer. The uncertainty of measurement was estimated based on GUM (guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement) and the Draft EURACHEM/CITAC Guide. The sources of measurement uncertainty, such as sample weight, final sample volume, standard solution, calibration curve and the repeatability, were identified. And that was evaluated for type A and B uncertainty then used as parameters to determine the combined standard uncertainty. An expanded uncertainty was calculated by multiplying the combined standard uncertainty with a coverage factor (k) calculated from the degree of freedom. The content of vitamin D₃ from Squid was 2.34 μg/100 g and the expanded uncertainty by multiplying by the coverage factor (k=2) was 0.11 μg/100 g at approximately 95% confidence level. The most influential uncertainty sources were repeatability and calibration curve.
