Empirical likelihood inference for semiparametric model with linear process errors

The purpose of this article is to use the empirical likelihood method to study the confidence regions construction for the parameters of interest in semiparametric model with linear process errors under martingale difference. It is shown that the adjusted empirical loglikelihood ratio at the true parameters is asymptotically chi-squared. A simulation study indicates that the adjusted empirical likelihood works better than a normal approximationbased approach.
Automatic 2D-to-3D Image Conversion based on Depth Map Estimation

Recent advances in 3D have increased the importance of stereoscopic content creation and processing. Therefore, converting existing 2D contents into 3D contents is very important for growing 3D market. The most difficult task in 2D-to-3D conversion is estimating depth map from a single-view image. Thus, in this paper, we propose a novel algorithm to estimate the map by simulating haze as a global image feature. Besides, the visual artifacts of the synthesized left- and right-views can also be effectively eliminated by recovering the separation and loss of foreground objects in the proposed algorithm. Experimental results show that our algorithm can produce a good 3D stereoscopic effect and prevent the separation and loss artifacts with low computational complexity.

Background: Ginseng possesses antitumor effects, and ginsenosides are considered to be one of its main active chemical components. Ginsenosides can further be hydrolyzed to generate secondary saponins, and 20(R)-panaxotriol is an important sapogenin of ginsenosides. We aimed to synthesize a new ginsengenin derivative from 20(R)-panaxotriol and investigate its antitumor activity in vivo and in vitro. Methods: Here, 20(R)-panaxotriol was selected as a precursor and was modified into its derivatives. The new products were characterized by <sup>1</sup>H-NMR, <sup>13</sup>C-NMR and HR-MS and evaluated by molecular docking, MTT, luciferase reporter assay, western blotting, immunofluorescent staining, colony formation assay, EdU labeling and immunofluorescence, apoptosis assay, cells migration assay, transwell assay and in vivo antitumor activity assay. Results: The derivative with the best antitumor activity was identified as 6,12-dihydroxy-4,4,8,10,14-pentamethyl-17-(2,6,6-trimethyltetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)hexadecahydro-1H-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-3-yl(tert-butoxycarbonyl)glycinate (A11). The focus of this research was on the antitumor activity of the derivatives. The efficacy of the derivative A11 (IC<sub>50</sub> < 0.3 µM) was more than 100 times higher than that of 20(R)- panaxotriol (IC<sub>50</sub> > 30 µM). In addition, A11 inhibited the protein expression and nuclear accumulation of the hypoxia-inducible factor HIF-1α in HeLa cells under hypoxic conditions in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, A11 dose-dependently inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion of HeLa cells, while promoting their apoptosis. Notably, the inhibition by A11 was more significant than that by 20(R)-panaxotriol (p < 0.01) in vivo. Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first study to report the production of derivative A11 from 20(R)-panaxotriol and its superior antitumor activity compared to its precursor. Moreover, derivative A11 can be used to further study and develop novel antitumor drugs.
Visibility detection approach to road scene foggy images

A cause of vehicle accidents is the reduced visibility due to bad weather conditions such as fog. Therefore, an onboard vision system should take visibility detection into account. In this paper, we propose a simple and effective approach for measuring the visibility distance using a single camera placed onboard a moving vehicle. The proposed algorithm is controlled by a few parameters and mainly includes camera parameter estimation, region of interest (ROI) estimation and visibility computation. Thanks to the ROI extraction, the position of the inflection point may be measured in practice. Thus, combined with the estimated camera parameters, the visibility distance of the input foggy image can be computed with a single camera and just the presence of road and sky in the scene. To assess the accuracy of the proposed approach, a reference target based visibility detection method is also introduced. The comparative study and quantitative evaluation show that the proposed method can obtain good visibility detection results with relatively fast speed.
Optimal Controller for Near-Space Interceptor with Actuator Saturation

The saturation of the actuator impairs the response performance of the near space interceptor control system. A control system based on the properties of linear tracking system is designed for this problem. The properties are that the maximum value of the pseudo-Lyapunov function of the linear tracking control system do not present at the initial state but at the steady state, based on which the bounded stability problem is converted into linear tracking problem. The pseudo-Lyapunov function of the linear tracking system contain the input variables; the amplitude and frequency of the input variables affect the stability of the nonlinear control system. Designate expected closed-loop poles area for different input commands and obtain a controller which is function of input variables. The coupling between variables and linear matrices make the control system design problem non-convex. The non-convex problem is converted into a convex LMI according to the Shur complement lemma and iterative algorithm. Finally the simulation shows that the designed optimal control system is quick and accurate; the rationality of the presented design techniques is validated.

Nonparallel ground track imaging of optical remote sensing satellite is an efficient imaging mode which could realize one-time transit imaging of complex observation tasks due to its fast and flexible imaging capability, and has attracted more attentions in the earth observation field recently. In this paper, an off-line attitude trajectory planning and on-line moving horizon attitude tracking control scheme based on optimal control idea is designed to satisfy the imaging requirement of high-performance attitude control oriented to nonparallel ground track imaging. Considering the entire satellite attitude adjustment of the drift angle, based on the geometric relationship of sapce vectors and the coordinate transformation principle, the three-axis attitude calculation of the precise pointing of key feature targets in the interested ground curve strip is conducted. Taking the attitude orientation as the constraint, the pseudospectral method is used following the established agile satellite control model to design the optimal trajectory of the attitude manever and the feedforward control torque of actuator for nonparallel ground track imaging. A moving horizon tracking control law based on the nonlinear error control model is designed to realize the highprecision attitude tracking control. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme are illustrated by numerical and imaging simulations.
