服飾에 나타난 리본 디자인(Ribbon design)에 關한 硏究
Since early of the seventieth, our country's regular fashion industry began as women of ready-made clothes. With entering the eightieth, it changes differently from the past, from the quantity into quality and equalization into a fixed direction of the individuation by elevation of nation's economic income and social partcipation addition of woman. In the propensity towards garments, it makes strong the consciousness which try to express the intelligence and sensitivity of beauty from the expression about feminine beauty mainly. It escapes from the conception of only wearing and it lays emphase on psychological satisfaction about choicee of clothes as means that express the oneself. Recently, nostalgia about past stired up the fashion of Baroque and Rococo and, several designer collections show the productions that introduced the detail factor or decoration etc. which flavoured that times, in the collection. Especially, ribbon which was the most important adornment at that times is standing out factors of satisfying the desire about fashion, practical aspect and femininity which is not same with other detail factor in the modern dress and its ornament. In the Korean costume, the breast-tie is a sort of ribbon. In the days, we can find a lot of breast-tie as form of ribbon in the improved Korean castume. Also ribbon is very available for dress, such as evening wear, cocktaildress and wedding dress etc, and practical two-peace, one-peace. Especially owing to diposition of mass production and personality, Ribbon decoration which is very changible increase the feminine mode and also the field of use is being expanded widely, from costume to accessory such as hat, shoes, bag, jewellery. And such aspect of ribbon has a merit which can be discovered only ribbon. In this study I want to grasp the characteristic of beauty and formative value of ribbon and through this study, I want to make ground for development of ribbon design in modern feminine costume. And I found the fact that development process of ribbon is equal to process of costume development. During the research of costume history, I researched the history of ribbon directly, tried to run effluence of moulding. Accordingly, I investigate the origin of ribbon and process of development preferentially and I divide or illuminate the kind of ribbon as structural, formal, and usable sorts. Also I analyze the form of expression about ribbon of each periods which appeared in the clothes. In addition, we look around the period that ribbon is the most in fashion and form which was in fashion etc. In the ancienttimes, middle ages, renaissance, baroque, rococo, modern times, and present times in each times, and we grasp the important peculiarity of ribbon. Both decorativeness and function are the feature of ribbon largely. And this study will make it possible that ribbon is modified practical, modernized and development of new ribbon design. Also during this study, I found the fact that ribbon can satisfy the desire both function and aspect of decoration. Both ancient Egyptian ribbon which used in fastening waist are semple of aspect of function in ribbon. But in their diverse way of binding ribbon, we can see their consciousness about beauty. In motivation of wearing clothes, the desire of body decoration is a very important element and it found in decoration of ribbon. In Baroque and Rococo when ribbon was used very wide-spread the purpose of wearing ribbon of two roles (function, decoration) is appeared, and proposal of ribbon style which have decorational aspect and add to the feminine mode help the concentrational research and practical work and understand. 1970年代初 여자 기성복을 기점으로 본격화된 우리나라의 패션산업은 1980年代에 접어들면서 고도의 경계성장에 따른 국민의 생활수준향상과 여성의 사회참여 증가로 인해 보다 良質化, 個性化 되어가고 있다. 衣服 性向에 있어서도 女性的연 아름다움 위주의 表現에서 知性과 感性의 아름다움을 표현하려는 의식이 강해지고, 단지 입는다는 개념에서 탈피하여 개성을 나타내는 가치표현의 수단으로서 자기 만족을 위한 역할로 衣服을 입으려는 심리적인 측면이 보다 중시되는 경향을 나타내고 있다. 이와 더불어 한편으로는 과거로의 향수가 최근 바로크 (Baroque)와 로코코 (Rococo) 풍 衣裳의 유행을 불러일으켰으며, 그 時代를 풍미했던 디데일(detail) 要素나 裝飾등을 도입한 작품들이 계계 여러나라의 디자이너 컬렉션(designer collection) 에 선보였다. 특히 그 時代에 가장 重要한 裝飾의 하나인 리본 (ribbon) 은 다른 디데일 (detail) 要素가 지니지 못하는 特性, 즉 떼었다 붙였다 할 수 있는 가변성과 실용성을 지니고 있으며 특히 리본의 여성스러운 姜的感覺은 패션의 욕구를 충족시켜주기 때분에 現代女性服飾에서의 그 活用價値가 무한하다고 본다. 한복에서의 옷고름도 역시 리본의 일종이라고 볼 수 있는데 근래의 개량한복에서도 리본 형식을 찾아볼 수 있다. 또한 p西洋服飾의 이브닝웨어 (evening wear) 나 칵데일 드레스 (cackail dre-ss), 웨딩드레스 (wedding dress)와 같은 드레스類, 심지어는 실용적인 투피스나 원피스등에 이르기까지 다양하게 사용되고 있다. 특히 근래 女性服飾의 量産化, 個性化, 추세에 비추어 볼 때 가변적이면서도 어느옷에나 잘 어울리게 활용할 수 있는 리본장식은 여성적인 분위기를 더해줌은 물론 의상뿐 아니라 모자, 구두, 백, 언더웨어 (under wear), 나아가 귀금속이나 보석 등의 악셰사리에까지 그 활동영역이 확대되고 있으며 이는 다른 諸裝飾이 갖지 못하는 리본만의 장점이라고 하겠다. 이에 本 硏究에서는 리본만이 갖는 美的特性과 造形的 價値를 파악하여 現代女性服飾에서의 리본디자인 개발을 위한 기들을 마련하고 아울러 리본의 변천과정이 복식의 변천과정과 어떠한 관련성을 가지고 있는가를 服飾史를 통해 살펴봄으로써 리본의 역사를 고찰하고 나아가 이를 통해 리본의 造形性을 유출, 그 관련성을 재조명해 보는데 그 목적을 두었다. 따라서 服飾의 起源과 裝飾性을 考察하고 服飾史에 나타난 時代別 리본 (ribbon) 의 表現形式을 분석하여 그 유행된 形態들을 時代別로 古代 및 中世, 르네상스 (Renaissance), 바로크 (Baroque), 로코코 (Roc-oco), 近代 및 現代로 나누어 그 發展過程과 樣式등을 살펴보았다. 또한 이를 토대로 古代로 부터 現代에 이르기까지 등장해왔던 수많은 리본의 類型들을 構造別, 形態別, 用途別로 분류함으로써 각 형태에 대한 使用例와 特性을 고찰하여 과거와 현대의 리본장식을 체계화시켜 보았다. 이는 現代女性服에 대한 활용방안의 일환으로 과거에 등장했던 리본 (ribbon) 양식을 실pw적, 현대적으로 응용하거나 새로운 형태의 리본디자인 개발에 이바지할 수 있다고 했다. 그리고 服飾에 나타난 리본디자인 (Ribbon design)의 발전과정을 고찰하는 과정에서 리본 (ribbon) 의 특성, 즉 機能性과 裝飾性을 모두 충족시킬 수 있다는 長點을 발견할 수 있었다. 고대 이집트인들이 쉔터(shenti), 쉬이스 가운 (sheath gawn)등을 여미기 위해 묶은 매듭형 리본이나 그리스 (Greece) 시대의 히마티온 (Himation) 을 고정하기 위해 허리에 맨 벨트 (belt) 형식의 나비형 리본들에서 볼 수 있다. 그러나 機能飾 目的을 위한 사용에서도 美에 대한 의식없이 機能的 目的으로만 사용하지 않았음은 그들의 衣服을 묶는 形態가 多樣했다는 점에서 충분히 짐작할 수 있다. 이는 人間의 身體에 대한 裝飾的 欲求가 강하게 작용하여 리본장식에까지도 나타나게 된 것으로 리본장식이 가장 과도하게 사용되었던 바로크나 로코코 시대에 대부분 裝錦的인 目的으로만 사용된 것을 보더라도 알 수 있다 그러나 보다 多樣性을 추구하는 現代에는 이 두 가지 特性을 모두 갖출 리본이 요구되고 있다. 따라서 本考에서는 리본이 갖는 실용적인 면을 살리면서도 裝飾的으로 女性美를 더해 주는 리본형의 바로크와 로코코 시대의 리본 形態를 집중적으로 고찰하고 살펴보고 이를 實際的인 작품제작에 適用시킴으로써 라본이 갖는 造形的인 美를 再發見하고 現代 感覺에 맞는 새로운 形態를 개발하는데 도움을 주고자 한다.
