현대 여성의 토탈코디네이션 연구 : 얼굴형에 따른 메이크업과 헤어스타일에 관한 연구 = (A) Study on the Total Coordination for Modern Women : Focused on the Make-up and Hair Style on Face Type

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대사회는 다중매체와 멀티미디어를 통한 뉴미디어(new-media)의 홍수 속에서 더욱 개성화, 다양화, 차별화되고 있어, 보다 시각적이고 외향적인 요소를 중요시하는 이미지시대가 되고 있다. 또한 현대 사회는 여성의 취업과 사회참여의 증가로 교육면에서는 고학력화, 직종면에서는 다양화되고, 전문직 선호경향으로 개인 각자의 자유로운 내적 미의식 표출이라는 독자적인 개성화를 추구하게 되었다.
좋은 이미지는 타고나지 않아도 후천적인 노력에 의해서도 얼마든지 만들고 높여질 수 있다. 이러한 외적 이미지를 차지하는 중요한 요소 중 하나가 메이크업과 헤어스타일이다.
이 연구는 현대여성의 다양한 얼굴형에 효과적인 메이크업과 헤어스타일의 조화가 시각적 효과에 미치는 영향에 대해서 연구하는데 그 목적이 있다. 얼굴형은 둥근형, 타원형, 역삼각형, 사각형, 긴 얼굴의 5종류로 구분하고, 헤어스타일은 쇼트, 세미 롱, 롱 헤어스타일로 분류해서 적용하였다.
연구의 방법은 선행연구와 문헌을 참고하여 각 얼굴형태에 맞는 메이크업과 헤어스타일을 고찰하였고, 이에 따라 각종 잡지, 사진자료를 제시하였다. 현대 여성을 위한 토탈코디네이션으로는 얼굴형에 맞는 효과적인 메이크업과 헤어스타일을 고찰하기 위해 2000년대 이후부터 현재까지로 그 범위를 제한하여 고찰하였다.
연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 얼굴형에 효과적인 메이크업으로, 둥근형 얼굴에 효과적인 메이크업은 통통한 얼굴을 갸름하게 하는 데 중점을 두고, 눈썹은 화살형과 각진형 눈썹으로 그린다. 눈의 윤곽은 아이섀도로 확실하게 드러나도록 하며, 눈의 꼬리부분을 약간 강조한다. 입술은 귀여운 분위기에 맞게 연한 핑크로 하여 전체적 이미지가 갸름해보이도록 하게 한다.
타원형 얼굴에 효과적인 메이크업은 특별히 얼굴형을 수정할 필요가 없고, 자연스럽고 균형을 유지하는 것으로 충분하다. 눈썹은 눈썹산이 약간 높은 곡선형으로, 눈의 형태를 좀더 자연스럽게 표현하기만 한다. 엷은 아이섀도를 커다란 브러시로 눈두덩 전체에 골고루 펴 바른다. 입술은 자신의 입술선을 그대로 살려 자연스럽게 그린다.
역삼각형 얼굴에 효과적인 메이크업은 턱 중앙의 하이라이트는 생략하고 T존과 눈 밑에 넓게 하이라이트를 주어 넓은 이마를 수평에 가깝고 길고 시원스럽게 그려준다. 아주 짙은 색상의 아이섀도로 눈의 외곽부분을 좀더 짙게 발라 둥근 느낌을 강조한다. 눈썹은 둥근 라인으로 강조하고, 입술은 빈약해 보이는 얼굴의 하반부를 풍요로운 느낌이 나도록 밝은 색으로 그려준다.
사각형 얼굴에 효과적인 메이크업은 전체적으로 얼굴이 둥그스름하게 보이도록 콧등을 비롯한 세로의 길이를 강조해서 하이라이트를 주고, 각진 양턱 이마 끝 부위에 셰이딩을 주어 갸름해 보이도록 한다. 눈썹은 길게 아치형으로 그리고, 눈꼬리 쪽에 약간 짙은 색상의 아이섀도로 눈끝을 강조하듯이 펴 바른다. 입술은 입술선을 각지게 그리고 입술산도 둥글리지 않는다.
긴 얼굴에 효과적인 메이크업은 긴 얼굴을 짧게 보이도록 하이라이트를 하고 코는 길이가 느껴지지 않도록 콧날은 약간 짧게, 눈밑은 폭넓게, 이마는 옆으로 다소 길게 바르고, 셰이딩은 코벽을 따라 짧게, 이마 위와 아래턱을 발라 길이감을 줄인다. 눈썹은 눈썹산을 강조하면서 곡선으로 가늘게 그린다. 아이섀도는 아이홀을 중심으로 펴발라 눈을 넓게 보이게 한다. 입술화장으로 수평적 느낌의 분위기를 주기위해윗입술과 아랫입술 모양의 차이를 두어 길이가 짧아 보이도록 한다.
둘째, 얼굴형에 효과적인 헤어스타일로, 둥근형 얼굴에 헤어커트디자인을 할 때는 타원형의 얼굴에 근접하도록 디자인해야 하며, 이때 전체적인 스타일은 클래식하지만 현대적인 것이 좋다. 앞머리의 라인은 사선을 이용한 착시효과를 적용하여 탑을 기점으로 모발길이에 단차를 주고 질감을 강하게 넣어 볼륨감을 형성시키는 것이 효과적이다.
타원형 얼굴은 이상적인 얼굴형으로 어떤 헤어스타일도 잘 어울리지만, 같은 타원형이라도 이목구비의 차이와 턱이 가늘다거나 이마를 드러내고 있다든지 각각 다소 특징이 있으므로 그것을 살려서 모발의 길이와 디자인을 생각하고 매력의 포인트를 주어 신선함을 주도록 한다.
역삼각형 얼굴에 효과적인 헤어스타일은 이마를 감출 수 있는 길이를 선택하고 질감을 가볍게 해주는 것이 좋다. 또한 컬러의 대비를 이용한 분할로 하악골을 드러내어 얼굴형을 보완해주는 것도 효과적이다.
사각형 얼굴에 효과적인 헤어스타일은 사선을 이용하여 착시효과를 유도하고 비대칭라인을 강조하여 각진 형태를 완화시키는 것이 좋다.
긴 얼굴에 효과적인 헤어스타일은 볼쪽으로 볼륨을 살려주는 스타일이 좋다. 이렇게 하면 가로선이 강조되어 얼굴이 짧아 보이는 효과가 있다. 긴 얼굴형에 가장 안전하고 이상적인 헤어스타일은 단발형으로 앞머리를 잘라서 내려주면 귀여운 이미지를 줄 수 있다.
이 연구 결과를 통해 후속 연구를 위한 몇 가지 시사점을 제시하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 이 연구에서는 각 얼굴유형별로 1명의 모델을 대상으로 했다. 따라서 얼굴 피부색이나 기본적인 얼굴이미지나 형태가 한정되어 있어, 연구의 결과를 확대 해석하는데 신중을 기해야 한다.
둘째, 이 연구에서는 얼굴유형별로 메이크업과 헤어스타일에 중점을 두었으나, 다양한 연령대, 직업, 상황, 테마 등을 고려하여야 한다.
셋째, 이 연구에서는 메이크업과 헤어스타일에 중점을 두었으나, 액세서리, 패션도 고려하여 토털커뮤니케이션의 의미를 확대시킬 필요가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Present society, increasing of employment and social participation of women, some changes occurred in some field. In education, it was getting high educational background, and people preferred to get a professional job in work. Thus, people sought for a marked individuality on each one to present free inner beauty.
The purpose of this study was to investigate visual effects which gives influence on harmony of effective make-up and hair style on every face type. The face type, it divided in 5 types in round, oval, square, long, triangular type. The hair style like short and wavy was applied variously.
As for study method, make-up and hair style on every face type was established by former research and documentary record and presented some contents of magazine and photo data. As a modern woman for total-coordination, I'd like to consider on effective make-up and hair style on every face type. Thus the scope of this study was restricted from latter of 2000's to currently.
The result of this study were as follows ;
First, in the face type with effective make-up, effective make-up for round face type led the importance to make face oval lets and it was to paste in the impression which raises the eye lower part in small quantity. It drew with the arrow anger which is rising type, and square anger. Using by eye shadow, it emphasized the tail portion of the eye to show the contour of the eye. It pasted light pink tone on lip to look cute. Effective make-up for oval face is just do naturally and maintain the balance of the face. There is no necessity to adjust on face type.
It drew a little bit higher curved type on eyebrows, and just show the shape of the eye more naturally on eye make-up. By light and big brush, it pasted an upper eyelid equally. On lip make-up, it drew naturally just to follow their own lip line. It looked better dark color than light. Effective make-up for triangular face, it highlighted T-zone and under part of eyes exception of the middle of chin. Then, it drew near horizontally and long on prominent forehead. By very dark tone of eye shadow, it emphasized round-shape of the eye as it pasted the more thickly to outer of eyes. It drew looked like more roundly on eyebrows, and applied light color tone on the lower part of lip to look rich. Effective make-up for square face, it highlighted length of face like a nose to look face more roundly, and ovally to applied the shadow of tail of square-jawed. It drew arched type on eyebrows, and squarely not roundly on lip line. Effective make-up for long face, it highlighted the line of nose a little bit short and pasted long on forehead by sideward. It pasted the upper part of forehead and lower part of chin to look less longer. It drew curved-type on eyebrows. It drew the shape of upper and lower lip a little bit differently to be short of the length of lip.
Second, effective hair style on face type, hair style on round face was designed get near to oval face and looked good if it was classical and modern style. Oval face is very ideal face type, so any kind of hair style looked people good. However, there is some other special features on individual, so consider on length of hair and design. That gave people look more attractively and differently. Effective hair style on triangular was to choose the length for hiding the broad forehead. Then, it was good to make face look lightly. Effective hair style on square face, using oblique line, it induced optical illusion effect. Then, it was good to make square-type to be ovally by emphasizing non-symmetrical line. Effective hair style on long face, it was good to have layered hair style toward cheeks. The most safe and ideal hair style on long face was to cut fore lock bobbed hair. If so, it made people look lovely and sweet.
On the basis of the results of this study, I'd like to suggest as follows for later study;
First, this study had 1 model for every each face type, so there is limitation to skin color, base image and shape of face, it should be careful to analyze excessively the result of this study.
Second, this study was concentrated on make-up and hair style on face type, but it should be consider on age group, job, circumstance, them and so on.
Lastly, it is necessary to expand the meaning of total coordination by considering cloth, and accessory.
