The purpose of this study is to identify how effective the Token Reinforcement Method is in correcting non-study behavior of children with Learning Disabilities.
To accomplish the purpose, this researcher made the following hypotheses.
Hypotheses 1. Token Reinforcement Method positively changes non fulfilment behavior of assignment as one of the aspects of children with Learning Disabilities.
Hypotheses 2. Token Reinforcement Method positively changes distraction behavior as one of the aspects of children with Learning Disabilities.
Hypotheses 3. Token Reinforcement Method positively changes instruction disturbance behavior as one of the aspects of children with Learning Disabilities.
For the hypotheses verification, the researcher surveyed three children with Learning Disabilities who were at 6th grade of J elementary school located in Busan.
Then the subjects' non fulfilment behavior of assignment, distraction behavior and instruction disturbance behaviors were defined as target behaviors. When children surveyed here did behaviors opposed to target ones as foresaid, they were given tokens. this is the very Token Reinforcement Method. As for this method, I have observed and recorded target behavior numbers using time sampling record, which was 34 times in total.
And according to change development design, before-basic period Ⅰ, disposition period Ⅰ, before-basic period Ⅱ, disposition Period Ⅱ and after-checking period have been set, and the change in development has been shown below. Token distribution was in accordance with Token distribution contract.
Through these procedures as above, I have concluded as follow.
First, Token Reinforcement Method positively changed non fulfilment behavior of assignment as one of the aspects of children with Learning Disabilities.
Second, Token Reinforcement Method positively changed distraction behavior of assignment as one of the aspects of children with Learning Disabilities.
Third, Token Reinforcement Method positively changed instruction disturbance behavior of assignment as one of the aspects of children with Learning Disabilities.
