The purpose of this study was to analyze the relation between students' goal orientations and school life adjustment.
The research question of this study was as follows:
What relations are there between students' goal orientations and school life adjustment?
The hypotheses of this study were as follows:
Hypothesis 1: There would be difference in relation between students' goal orientations and school life adjustment according to the low ranking types of students' goal orientation.
Hypothesis 1-1: Task orientation would show positive correlation with school life adjustment.
Hypothesis 1-2: Self-enhancing ego orientation would show positive correlation with school life adjustment.
Hypothesis 1-3: Self-defeating ego orientation would show negative correlation with school life adjustment.
Hypothesis 1-4: Avoidance orientation would show negative correlation with school life adjustment.
The subjects of this study were 400 eleventh grade students. The instruments used in this study were a goal orientation test and a school life adjustment test. Correlational analysis was used to test the hypotheses in this study.
The conclusions of this study were as follows:
First, task orientation and self-enhancing ego orientation showed positive correlations with school life adjustment.
Second, self-defeating ego orientation and avoidance orientation showed negative correlations with school life adjustment.
