The purpose of this study is to increase the social and the expressive speech ability of the developmentally disordered children through the role-playing with prior experiences.
The issues of the research were as follows ;
a) Is the role-playing with pre field experiences effective for increasing social abilities of the developmentally disordered child?
b) Is the role-playing with pre field experiences effective for increasing expressive speech ability of the developmentally disordered child?
The subjects in this study were 3 children in 3rd grade primary school in Busan with developmental disorders.
To obtain empirical data, the following instruments were used.
a) To measure the Intelligent Quotient, the KEDI-WISC was used.
b) The role-playing with pre field experience program was developed and
used.
c) To measure the social maturity level, Social Maturity Scale, revised by Seong-guk, Kim & Ok-gi, Kim(1983) was used..
d) To measure the expressive speech ability, a list of the vocabulary and sentences were targeted for instruction.
To analyse the data, the descriptive statistics were used.
The findings were as follows ;
First, the role-playing with pre field experiences was effective to increase the social skills of the developmentally disordered child.
Second, the role-playing with pre field experiences was effective to increase expressive speech ability of the developmentally disordered child.
