The purpose of this study was to examine the establishing career identity and making career decision are the most important problems for high school students who are preparing for going on to university and working life. However, recent studies proposed that career decision-making level of undergraduate students were too low. For the purpose of examining the relationship of career identity and career decision-making level of the high school students, the problem of this study were specified as follow;
1. Is career identity of high school students significantly correlated with career decision-making level?
2. Do gender and grades of high school students affect career identity?
3. Do gender and grades of high school students affect career decision-making level?
4. Do career identity, gender and grades of high school students affect career decision-making level?
The stratified random sample of this study consisted of 652 high-school students(291 men, 361 women) from several high-school in Chungcheongnam-do. To analyze these thesis statistically, correlation analysis, two-way analysis of variance, and covariance analysis are used.
The instruments of this study were Kim, Bong-Hwan's career identity scale and Park, Jong-Wan's career decision making level scale.
For the analysis, SPSS program was used to make the analysis.
Major findings of this study were as follows;
The first, there was significant correlation between career identity and career decision-making level.
The second, career identity and career decision-making level of third grades were higher than first grades.
The third, there were no difference career identity and career decision-making level by gender.
The fourth, career identity, gender and grades of high school students affect career decision-making level. Therefore, it must improve career identity in order to enhance career decision-making level.
This study suggests that relations of career identity and career decision-making level of the high school students.
