건강한 주거공간의 환경친화적 실내디자인요소 적용방안 = (A) study on applications of the environmental-friendly interior design elements for healthy living space

국문 초록 (Abstract)

20세기이후 급속한 산업화 및 의학의 발달, 경제성장과 교육수준의 향상 등으로 환경의 중요성과 가치에 대한 사람들의 인식이 높아지고 있으며 주거선택에 있어서도 쾌적한 주거환경에 대한 요구도가 급격히 증가하는 경향을 보이고 있다. 그 무엇보다도 세계적 환경단체인 ‘World Watch’ 보고서에 따르면 전 세계적으로 전체의 30%에 해당되는 새 건물 또는 개·보수된 건물들이 포름알데히드와 휘발성 유기물질 등으로 인한 이른바 ‘Sick-House Syndrome’(새집증후군)을 앓고 있다. 새집증후군이 사회 문제로 대두되면서 환경친화적 주택 건축이 대세로 자리 잡고 있지만 불과 몇 해 전까지만 해도 국내 주택 건설사들은 수요자들의 변화된 생활패턴, 다양성 및 기호에 관심을 두기보다는 공급자 위주의 획일적인 상품만을 제공하여 왔다. 그러나 이제는 국내 사회적 변화와 소비자들의 의식수준이 향상으로 인하여 실내의 건강성과 쾌적성에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있기 때문에 주택의 환경친화적 실내를 고려해야 하는 것이 필수적이 되었다. 또한 많은 주택수요자 들은 아파트단지의 뿐 아니라 아파트 평면, 인테리어를 중시하고 교육환경은 물론 주변의 쾌적성에 중점을 두고 주택을 선택하고 있다. 그러나 건강과 환경친화에 대한 관심도의 높은 실정과는 달리 주거공간에 있어서 실내 디자인 요소의 인식은 못하는 등 건강과 환경친화에 대한 개념이 부족한 실정이다.이에 본 연구는 아파트를 중점적으로 건강한 주거공간에서 실내부분의 환경친화적인 디자인요소들을 정리하여 그중에서 가장 인간의 건강과 민감하게 작용하는 환경친화적 마감재료 및 시스템 요소들을 세분화하고 국내외사례를 통해 적용현황과 문제점등을 살펴보았다. 그리고 건강한 주거공간의 구성요소를 통하여 환경친화적 실내디자인 요소의 적용방안은 무엇인지 정리해보았다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다첫째 올 5월말‘다중이용시설등의 실내공기질관리법’의 시행에 맞추어 국내 아파트시장의 현황을 살펴본 결과 환경친화적 실내 디자인 요소로서 환경친화적 자재의 사용이 가장 두드러져 보인다. 이는 가장 시급한 대응방안의 하나로서 적용한 것이다.둘째 환경부로부터 자재에 대한 친환경 업무를 이관 받은 ''한국공기청정협회‘에서 2004년 2월부터 시행된 ’친환경 건축자재 품질인증제‘를 통해 국내 마감자재에 대한 인증업무가 시작되어, 환경친화형 건축자재만을 생산하는 업체만이 주택시장에서 살아남을 수밖에 없는 현실이 되고 있다. 이렇듯 각종 언론의 이슈와 더불어 사회문제시 되어 추가 규제 마련 및 친환경 제품 개발이 시급하다.셋째 각 건설사의 실무진들은 실질적으로 환경친화적 요소의 적용 시 비용 상승의 문제에 대한 것을 가장 큰 문제로 삼고 있다. 이는 환경친화성을 고려한 이는 관련자재 등의 가격이 상대적으로 높다는 것을 감안하지 않을 수 없기 때문에, 실무자들이 적용을 하고 싶어도 비용 상승 문제가 해결되지 않아 적용을 주저하고 있다고 해석될 수 있다. 넷째 국내외 사례를 통하여 본 결과 국내 아파트의 환경친화적요소의 실내의 적용을 살펴보면 거의 기존 마감자재의 환경친화적 자재의 교체와 공기청정기 등 건강관련 시스템의 추가로서 이는 비용 상승의 부담을 가지고 있는 것이 당연하게 보인다. 그러나 외국의 사례를 보면 환경친화적인 재료사용 뿐 아니라 평면의 가변성을 통하여 자연적인 통풍을 유도하고 각 세대에는 온실기능을 하는 실내정원을 조성하여 자연형태양열(passive solar) 이용을 도모하고 있으며. 주거의 거실 겸 실내정원이 발코니와 연결되어 조화로운 내외공간의 녹화를 조성하는 등에 더 중점을 두어 환경친화적인 건강한 주거공간을 마련하고 있다. 다섯째 건강한 주거공간의 환경친화적 실내디자인 요소의 적용방안은 무엇인가 이는 지속가능한 주거단지에서의 실내 환경부문의 계획방향과 같이하는 건강한 주거공간을 위한 실내구성요소의 적용에 대해 살펴봄으로써 정리될 수 있다. 다음 구체적인 적용의 방안을 정리하면 다음과 같다.1) 환경친화성의 중요성에 대한 사회적 인식2) 실내 환기를 위한 평면개발의 필요성3) 발코니의 적극적인 활용4) 식물의 실내 공간별 적용방안5) 검증 가능한 환경친화적 자재의 개발 의 필요성6) 포괄적인 제도적 기준 정립의 필요성이제 국내 건축 및 실내 등 대부분의 사업에서 건강에 대한 문제가 시대적인 화두가 되었다. 기존의 건축자재들은 환경친화적인 자재들로 대체되고 대규모 주거단지에서는 건강을 증진시키기 위하여 체육시설이나 문화 휴양시설을 갖추는 방향으로 전개되고 있다. 이에 각 건설사와 관련 업체들은 현재 국내의 인간의 건강의 문제와 웰빙의 문제가 하나의 사회적 문제로만 인식하는 것이 아니라 사회가 진보하는 과정의 필연적인 요소로서 관심을 당연히 가져야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Since the 20th century, people began to be more aware of importance and value of the environment due to rapid industrialization, development of the medicine, economic growth and improved education, and people'' needs for the comfortable living environment increase remarkably.The purpose of this study was to review the environmental-friendly design elements, particularly such sensitive elements most related to human health as finishing materials and system elements for the sound living spaces centering around apartment houses, and thereupon, address their applications and problems in Korean and abroad, and thereby, determine their applications for a sound living space.The results of this study can be summarized as follows;First, as a result of reviewing the domestic apartment house markets being affected by ''Interior Air Quality Management Code for the Public Facilities'' which began to be implemented in May, 2004, it was found that the environmental-friendly materials began to be used remarkably.Second, as ''Environmental-Friendly Building Materials Quality Certification System'' began to be operated for the domestic finishing materials in February, 2004, only those manufacturers producing the environmental-friendly materials could survive in the housing markets. Moreover, as various mass media raise the environmental-friendly materials as a social issue, it is urgent to arrange additional regulations and develop environmental-friendly materials.Third, many construction company officials perceive the higher cost as the most serious problem of the environmental-friendly materials. In other words, since the environmental-friendly elements are relatively higher priced, they seem to hesitate to use them unless the high cost cannot be offset. Fourth, as a result of analyzing domestic and foreign cases of applying the environmental-friendly element, it was found that the building costs of domestic apartment houses increased when the existing finishing materials were replaced by the environmental-friendly ones with such health-related systems as air purifier added up. However, in foreign cases, constructors used not only the environmental-friendly materials but also facilitated a natural ventilation by varying the planes and even created an interior garden playing a function of green-house to make use of the natural passive solar. Moreover, they linked living roominterior garden to balcony only to create a comfortable green indooroutdoor environment and thereby, supply environmental-friendly and sound living spaces.Fifth, as a consequence of reviewing how to apply the environmental-friendly elements for a sound living space, the following methods could be identified to create a sustainable and environmental-friendly living space. 1) Social recognition of importance of the environmental-friendliness2) Development of the planes for better indoor ventilation3) Positive use of balcony4) Application of plants to each interior space5) Development of verifiable environmental-friendly materials6) Establishment of comprehensive institutional criteriaNow, ''health'' becomes a common topic for architecture and interior as well as other businesses in Korea. So, construction companies and relevant suppliers are requested to be aware of human health and well-being not only as a social issue but also as essential elements for progressing society.
