The purpose of this study is to analyze health care service quality, customer(patient) satisfaction, and loyalty jointly at the ophathalmic hospitals. Health care service quality in this paper is consist of five factors: doctor related factors, nursing related factors, fee related factors, facility related factors, and access related factors. Data for this paper was collected from 224 customers(or patients) using the standardized questionnaire. After employing the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, the structural equation model was used to test the causal relationships among health care service quality, customer(patient) satisfaction, and loyalty. Research results show that doctor related factors are critical to visit the ophathalmic hospitals and influence significantly on customer(patient) satisfaction. Also nursing related factors and fee related factors have significant influences on customer(patient) satisfaction, but facility related factors and access related factors do not. However, the correlation coefficient between facility related factors and other factors(e.g. nursing related factors and fee related factors) is statistically significant, and then facility related factors influence on customer(patient) satisfaction indirectly. Finally, research shows that customer(patient) satisfaction significantly influences on loyalty at the ophathalmic hospitals. Based upon these findings, this paper suggests several recommendations for improving medical service quality and hospital customer satisfaction.
