음악영재교육 프로그램 비교 분석을 통한 음악영재성 고찰 = Consideration of the musical giftedness through the examination of the musically gifted students education programs

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대 사회는 다양한 분야의 전문인들을 요구하므로 각 분야에서의 영재교육은 날로 강조되고 있다. 그러나 우리나라를 포함한 여러 국가에서 현재 시행중인 음악영재교육 프로그램은 우선 음악영재성에 대한 포괄적인 개념 정리를 필요로 한다는 생각에서 본 연구는 진행되었다.
연구의 목적은 '음악적 잠재력의 발굴과 계발을 통한 음악적 능력의 성취'라는 음악영재교육의 궁극적인 목표를 지향하고자 음악영재와 음악영재성에 대한 개념을 고찰하는 것이었다. 이러한 연구목적 하에 연구내용으로서 영재의 정의 및 특징을 살펴보았고, 음악 신동·천재와 음악영재의 관계를 규명하였으며, 음악적 자질·음악적성·음악적 능력·음악성과 구별되는 음악영재성의 개념이라는 틀 안에서 우리나라 외 4개국에서 시행 중인 음악영재교육 프로그램을 비교 분석함으로써 각 프로그램에서 강조하는 음악영재성의 특성을 밝혔다. 연구의 결과로서 이제까지의 음악영재성 개념이 개인의 잠재된 음악적 능력보다는 즉각적으로 표출되는 개인의 연주 능력을 강조한다는 사실을 발견하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 음악영재가 소유한 포괄적 음악영재성을 구성하는 필수적인 요소로서 음악적 지각력·음악적 기억력·음악적 창의성·음악적 표현력은 물론 개인 내적 요소까지도 반드시 포함해야 할 것을 결론으로 제안하였다. 한편 본 연구는 바람직한 음악영재성을 고찰하기 위한 기초 연구였으므로, 연구의 결론에서 제시된 음악영재성의 구성과 발달에 대한 보다 심도있는 연구와 이와 관련된 효과적인 음악영재교육 프로그램 개발에 대한 후속연구가 필요하다.
결론적으로 본 연구는 그동안 음악영재와 혼용되었던 여러 개념들을 구별하고연주 능력과 더불어 다양한 음악적 잠재력을 강조하는 포괄적 음악영재성을 제안함으로써, 추후 포괄적 음악영재성에 기초한 선발 과정을 거쳐 음악영재가 조기에 발굴되고 그들을 위한 체계적인 교육과 적절한 환경을 제공하는 음악영재교육 프로그램의 기초를 마련했다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Recently, special education for the gifted students in various academic fields has been emphasized in terms of its educational value in the rapidly changing modern society. So this research focused on the conceptualizing of what the musical giftedness is, since the musically gifted education programs need to be started from the reliable concept on the musical giftedness.
The purpose of this research was to consider the concepts of the musically gifted children and musical giftedness. The ultimate objective of musically gifted education is the achievement of musical ability through the identification and the development of one's musical potentiality. Thus, it was reviewed about the definition and characteristic of the gifted children, and discussed it in relation to the musical prodigy and the musical genius. And then the concept of musical giftedness was dragged under the features of musical capacity, musical aptitude, musical ability and musicality. Finally, it was made clear of special quality of musical giftedness emphasized in each program, by comparing and analyzing the musically gifted students education programs.
The result of this research showed that the concept of musical giftedness has been emphasized 'musical ability' which is expressed outside through musical performance rather than 'musical potentiality' which is latent. Therefore it is suggested that the factors of the comprehensive concepts of musical giftedness needs to include musical perception, musical memory, musical creativity, musical expression and personality traits. On the other side, because this was an elementary research to consider the desirable concept of musical giftedness, it is necessary to study seriously about organization and development of musical giftedness and to develop the effective program of musically gifted education.
In conclusion, this research is significant in discriminating many concepts mixed with the musically gifted children and suggesting musical giftedness including musical ability on the musical performance. This research is also meaningful in providing the basis of the effective program for musically gifted education, which is providing the research-based criteria and process for identifying the children who show the comprehensive concepts of musical giftedness, the systematic educational curriculum and adequate facilities.
