아버지의 자녀양육 참여도와 유아의 사회적 능력과의 관계 = (A) relationship between father's involvement in child-rearing and child's social competence

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 아버지의 자녀양육 참여도와 유아의 사회적 능력과의 관계가 어떠한가를 알아보고, 아버지의 자녀양육 참여도와 유아의 사회적 능력이 아버지의 배경변인에 따라 차이가 있는지를 밝히는 것이다.
이와같은 목적에 따라 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다.
1. 아버지의 자녀양육 참여도와 유아의 사회적 능력은 관계가 있는가?
1-1. 아버지의 자녀양육 참여도 하위요인과 유아의 사회적 능력 하위요인과의 관계는 어떠한가?
1-2. 아버지의 자녀양육 참여도 하위요인 중 어떤 요인이 유아의 사회적 능력에 가장 큰 영향을 주는가?
2. 아버지의 자녀양육 참여도는 아버지의 교육정도, 직업, 수입에 따라 차이가 있는가?
3. 유아의 사회적 능력은 아버지의 교육정도, 직업, 수입에 따라 차이가 있는가?
본 연구의 대상은 서울시에 위치한 유치원에 다니는 만 4-6세의 유아 235명과 그들의 아버지였으며, 연구방법으로는 두 종류의 질문지를 사용하였다. 하나는 아버지의 자녀양육 참여도를 측정하기 위하여 최경순(1993)이 제작한 아동이 지각한 아버지의 자녀양육 참여도 질문지를 아버지용으로 수정하여 사용하였고, 또 다른 하나는 유아의 사회적 능력을 측정하기 위하여 Pease와 그의 동료들이 개발한 ISCS(Iowa Social Competency Scales: Preschool Form)을 번안하여 수정한 송나리(1992)의 질문지를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료를 분석하기 위해서 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, 일원분산분석(one-way ANOVA) 및 Scheffe′검정, 상관계수, 중다회기분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구에서 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다.
1. 아버지의 자녀양육 참여도와 유아의 사회적 능력과는 유의한 상관이 있었다.
1-1. 아버지의 자녀양육 참여도 하위요인 중 여가활동, 생활지도가 유아의 사회적 능력 하위요인 중 지도력, 유능성, 불안정성과 유의한 상관이 있었다.
1-2. 아버지의 자녀양육 참여도 하위요인 중 유아의 사회적 능력에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인은 생활지도였다.
2. 아버지의 배경변인 중 교육정도와 직업이 자녀양육 참여도에 영향을 미치는 변인으로 판명되었다. 아버지의 학력이 높고 고위전문직을 가지고 있을수록 자녀양육에 참여하는 정도가 높았다. 반면 아버지의 수입에 따른 자녀양육 참여도의 차이는 나타나지 않았다.
3. 아버지의 배경변인 중 직업이 유아의 사회적 능력에 영향을 미치는 변인으로 판명되었다. 아버지가 고위전문직을 가지고 있을수록 유아의 사회적 능력이 높았다. 반면 아버지의 교육정도, 수입에 따른 유아의 사회적 능력의 차이는 나타나지 않았다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between father's involvement in child-rearing and the child's social competence and find out if there is any difference of father's involvement in child-rearing and child's social competence according to father's background.
For the above purposes, the research questions considered in this study are as follows:
1. Is there any relationship between father's invovement in child-rearing and the child's social competence?
1-1. How does father's involvement in child-rearing affect the child's social competence?
1-2. What kind of variables in father's involvement affects the child's social competence most?
2. Is there any difference of father's involvement in child-rearing according to father's education, occupation, income?
3. Is there any difference of the child's social competence according to father's education, occupation, income?
The subjects of this study were 235 children attending at kindergartens and their fathers. Two kinds of the questionnaires were used for this study. The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe´ test for post hoc comparison, correlation, and multiple regression.
The results of the present study are summarized as follows:
1. There existed significant relationship between father's involvement in child-rearing and the child's social competence.
1-1. The father's family activity and day-to-day guidance were the variables that made it possible to predict the leadership, capability, and apprehension of child.
1-2. It was 'Day-to-day guidance' that gave the best estimate of the child's social competence.
2. Father's education and occupation turned out to be the influential variables on the child-rearing. Father's involvement score in child-rearing was higher when father was more educated and had more professional occupation. On the other hand father's income didn't have significant effect on father's involvement in child-rearing.
3. According to father's occupation, there were significant differences in the child's social competence. The child's social competence score was higher when the father had more professional occupation. On the other hand father's education, and income didn't have significant effect on child's social competence.
