By means of the classified frequency analysis, t-test, and the unitary quantitative analysis, 350 high school students in Kyung-gi Province was tested to verify the effects of high school students' participation in sports activities on the development of sociality. Through these tests the analyzed conclusions about the effects of sports participation on social developments is as the following.
First, in demographic social development set up in this study, there are statistically significant differences between the groups. In the sexual difference of social development, female students were found to be higher than male students. In the difference of social development among grades, self-regulation was highest in the first grade students, and between types of schools, girls' schools were the highest.
Second, in social development related to the amount of participation in sports activities, it was concluded that there is a statistically significant difference in activeness, stability, dominance, sociability, and self-regulation.
In the difference of social development of different amounts of participation time, activeness and dominance were found to be higher as the amount of participation time increased, and lesser participation lead to higher self-regulation. In the difference of social development of different periods of participation, activeness and self-regulation was found to be higher as the period of participation got longer. Thus, it was affirmatively concluded that participation of high school students in sports helps social development.
