아동의 사회적 행동과 어머니의 신념 및 양육방식에 대한 연구 : 사회적 기술 측면을 중심으로 = (The) Differences Between Children's Social Behavior and Material Beliefs, Childrearing Strategies : concentrating on social skill

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아동의 사회적 행동에 따라 사회적 기술에 관한 어머니의 신념 및 양육방식간에 차이가 있는지 알아 보고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다.
이에 따른 구체적인 연구 문제는 다음과 같다.
1. 아동의 사전 행동에 따라 어머니의 훈육방식에는 차이가 있는가?
2. 아동의 사회적 행동에 따라 어머니와의 상호작용 활동 유형은 차이가 있는가?
3. 아동의 사회적 행동에 따라 사회적 기술에 관한 어머니의 신념은 차이가 있는가?
4. 아동의 사회적 행동에 따라 사회적 기술에 관한 어머니의 양육방식은 차이가 있는가?
본 연구의 대상은 서울시에 위치한 2개 유치원의 만 6세 원아 48명과 그들의 어머니이다. 아동의 사회적 행동을 측정하기 위해 자유놀이 시간과 바깥놀이 시간에 아동의 행동을 관찰하여 체크하였다. 어머니의 훈육방식, 상호작용 활동 유형, 양육방식은 Kennedy가 사용한 사회적 기술에 관한 어머니의 신념 및 양육방식의 면접 내용을 번안하여 사용하였다.
수집된 자료로 아동의 사회적 행동과 사회적 기술에 관한 어머니의 신념 및 양육방식간에 차이를 알아보기 위해 t-검증 하였다.
연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 어머니의 훈육방식중 신체적인 벌주기에서는 아동의 사회적 행동에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 즉, 부정적 사회적 행동을 많이 한 아동의 어머니는 자녀에게 신체적인 벌을 더 주었다. 그러나, 칭찬과 물질적 보상 주기는 집단간에 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다.
둘째, 어머니와의 상호작용 활동 유형(아동 중심 활동 유형/성인 중심 활동 유형)은 아동의 사회적 행동에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 즉, 긍정적 사회적 행동을 많이 한 아동의 어머니는 모래놀이, 동화책 읽기등 아동 중심적 활동을 더 하였고, 부정적 사회적 행동을 많이 한 아동의 어머니는 학습지 풀기, 스포츠 프로그램 시청등 성인 중심적 활동을 더 하였다.
세째, 사회적 기술에 관한 어머니의 신념은 아동의 사회적 행동에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 즉, 긍정적 사회적 행동을 많이 한 아동의 어머니는 자녀가 사회적 기술을 갖기를 바라는 신념이 더 있었다.
네째, 사회적 기술에 관한 어머니의 양육방식은 아동의 사회적 행동에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 즉, 긍정적 사회적 행동을 많이 한 아동의 어머니는 자녀에게 사회적 기술 지도를 더 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is aimed at investigating the differences between materal beliefs and childrearing strategies about social skills to social behavior of preschool children.
The questions raised for this study are as follows:
1. Are there any significant differences on maternal disciplinary style to children's social behavior?
2, Are! there any significant differences on interactional activities styles with mother to their children's social behavior?
3. Are there any significant differences on materal beliefs about social skills to children's social behavior?
4. Are there any significant differences on childrearing strategies to children's social behavior?
The subjects of this study are 48 children , who are 6 years old in 2 kindergarden located at Seoul and their mothers. To check the children's social behavior, the researcher observed the children by using a time sampling technique during free play time period and out door play. Mothers of these children were interviewed to find out their childrearing strategies. The tool of the study developed by J. H. Kennedy (l992).
The data analysis of this study were applied t-test to understand the differences between the children's social behavior and materal beliefs, childrearing strategies about social skills.
The results of the study are as follows:
1. The physical punishment according to the children's social behaviors were significant. To be more specific, the mothers of negative social behavior children used more psysical punishment than the mothers of positive social behavior children. However, there was no differences on reward attitudes according to the group of social behavior.
2. The interaction activity styles(chi1d centered/adult centered) with mothers according to the children's social behaviors were significant each other. That is, mothers of positive social behavior children engaged child-centered activities, such as playing in the sand-box, reading a story. Also, mothers of negative social behavior children engaged adult-centered activities, such as solving worksheet, watching sports on TV.
3. The materal beliefs about social skills according to the children's social behaviors were significant each other. The mothers of positive social behavior children had more materal beliefs about children's social skills than those of negative social behavior.
4. The childrearing strategies about social skills according to the children's social behaviors were significant each other. The mothers of positive social behavior children show more of the teaching attitude on social skills to children.
