트랜드에 따른 유행색과 메이크업의 상관성 : 1990년대 이후 캣워크를 중심으로 = Interrelation Between Fashionable Color and Make-up According to the Trend

This study discusses fashionable color make-up style according to the fashion trend since 1990's, different from normal make-up, which is experimental and artistic, especially concentrated on Catwalk of overseas fashion show.
In 1990's, the age of chaos and pluralism of 'the end of a century', all the past is analyzed again. Colors have a tendency in naturalism such as white, black and khaki etc. and shows the Ecologe with natural materials. There were several representative fashion style, for instance Ethnic, Grunge, romantic Neo-Hippy, Avant-garde and Retro Style.
Make up trend matched with these fashion style is faint eye brows and lip color of Hippy style. In 1993, round and fine eye brows and thick lips led the trend. In the middle of 1990's, The popularity of Smoky eye make-up and jeans made green and blue paid attention to.
At the end of 1990's, the anxiety of 'the end of a century' had shiny pearl make-up and primary colors like gold, red and purple be in fashion, which represented transcendental freedom and something experimental or extraordinary.
In the beginning of 2000's, fashion has a drift toward 'Modern Romanticism'. It is based on 'pursuit of individuality' due to a concern of 'human technology' and has the theory that the natural and simple is the most polished and up-to-date.
And now, recollecting of the past and longing for our childish innocence, high-classic and sexy 'Modern Hippy Style' rise to the surface with Vintage.
Fashion trend has a regular cycle. It goes back and forth to 1940's or 1960's and has the inspiration of design like Ethnic or Exotic according to the theme or the region. Make-up trend balanced with fashion goes with similar tendency.
Studying the general tendency of fashion from the past to the present time, we can predict the trend of the next season. Therefore, this study help us understand the trend of make-up. I hope that this study can help make-up rise as a field of artistic representation with originality and novel ideas.
