情報시스템의 戰略的 活用이 企業成果에 미치는 影響에 관한 硏究 = (A) study on the influence of strategic application of information system on business performance

국문 초록 (Abstract)

정보화의 진전은 기업을 경영하고 사업을 운영하는 방법에 격심한 변화를 가져왔다. 정보기술은 제품의 기능이나 형태, 생산공정 뿐만 아니라 소비자의 의식과 선호 및 생활패턴까지에도 광범위한 영향을 미치고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 최근 기업들은 경쟁력 제고 방안은 하나로 정보 시스템의 활용에 관심을 기울이고 있다.
본 연구는 이러한 문제인식을 바탕으로 정보 시스템의 전략적 활용에 관한 모형을 통해 실제 기업성과에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 요소들을 도출하여 정보 시스템은 전략적 활용수준이 기업성과와 정보 시스템 효과에 미치는 영향을 탐색해 보고, 정보 시스템의 효과가 기업성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 살펴봄으로써, 기업이 경쟁우위 확보를 위해 경영전략을 효과적이고 효율적으로 추진할 수 있도록 적절한 정보 시스템의 전략적 활용방안 탐색하여 향후 정보 시스템의 설계 및 개발에 도움을 주고자 수행되었다.
이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 연구는 문헌연구와 실증연구를 병행하였으며, 실증분석의 결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다.
첫째, 정보 시스템 활용수준에 따른 정보 시스템 특성에서 모든 정보 시스템 활용수준과 시스템 성과간에 유의적인 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 정보 시스템 활용수준에 따른 시스템 성과와의 관계에서는 모든 정보 시스템 활용수준에서 시스템 성과와 유의적인 차이를 보였다.
셋째, 정보 시스템 활용수준에 따른 정보 시스템의 특성과 시스템 성과와의 관계에서 정보의 질이 정보 이용도에서 지원, 공장, 전략의 수준에서 영향을 미치고, 이용자 만족도 에서는 지원, 전략에서 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
마지막으로 정보 시스템의 활용수준별 시스템 성과와 기업성과에서는 공장에 해당하는 기업을 제외하고는 거의 모든 정보 시스템의 활용수준에서 유의적인 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
이러한 결과들을 요약해 볼 때 현재의 정보 시스템을 중요시 여기로 이를 실행하고 있는 기업에서의 성과는 그렇지 않은 기업보다 더 높은 성과를 얻고 있다고 할 수 있으며, 현재 정보 시스템이 비록 중요하지는 않지만 미래 정보 시스템을 중요시 여기는 기업은 그렇지 못한 기업보다 성과가 높을 것으로 판단된다.
본 연구는 정보 시스템의 전략적 활용수준에 따른 시스템 특성, 시스템 성과 그리고 기업성과간의 차이와 정보 시스템의 전략적 활용에 따른 시스템 특성과 시스템성과 그리고 시스템성과와 기업성과와의 관계를 분석하여 기업전략으로서 정보 시스템의 계획을 수립하는데 그 의의가 있다고 하겠다.
그러나 본 연구는 이러한 의의에도 불구하고 다음의 한계점들을 가지고 있다. 첫째, 실제 업종별 또는 규모별로 정보 시스템에 대한 현재의 중요성과 미래의 중요성은 다를 것인데 본 연구에서는 업종별로 구분하지 아니하고 전체 표본을 이용하여 정보 시스템의 전략적 활용수준을 도출하였다.
둘째, 활용수준을 도출하는데 있어 측정변수에 대한 응답자의 인식정도로만 측정하였기 때문에 주관적인 경향성을 배제 할 수 없었다. 따라서 연구결과를 일반화하는데는 무리가 따를 것으로 판단된다. 향후 연구에서는 이와 같은 한계를 극복할 수 있는 실험적 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

Advancement of informatization has brought about drastic change in the way of doing business and managing enterprise. Information technology has a wide influence not only on the function and form of products, production process and but also on consumers' consciousness and preference and their life pattern. Under such recent circumstances, business enterprises have shown a sharp concern about the utility of information system as one way of enhancing competitive power of their products
The study, based upon the perception of such problems, has drawn such factors as can exert influence on actual performance of business, through strategic utility of a model, and investigated the impact on the effect of business performance by utilization level of the system's strategy.
And this study has been made in order that the business can drive its management strategy more efficiently and effectively, for which proper ways of making use of information system were explored, finally leading to the design and development of an information system.
So as to achieve such a research purpose, this research performed literature study and field study in actual occasions simultaneously and reached the following conclusion by their analysis.
Firstly, the result showed that in the features of information system according to the level of every information utilization, thers is a significant difference between the utilization level of every information system and its actual performance.
Secondly, in the realm of the system's performance, according to the utilization level of information system system performance and the level of strategic utilization of information system have a significant difference on all the level of system utilization.
Thirdly, in the relationship between the characteristics of information systems and the system's performance, the quality of information, in the degree of its use, has an impact on the dimension of support, strategy and factory, and in terms of customer's satisfaction, it has a significant influence on support and strategy.
Lastly in the realm of system performance and business performance in accordance with strategic patterns of information system nearly all the information system of every pattern has significant relationship except for such business as manufacturing factories.
In view of such a summary, the business house which lay much importance on current information system and put it into practice have been judged to reap more performance than those which do not, and those business concerns which do not regard the present information system as insignificant but think of future one as significant important are believed to harvest a great performance.
By analyzing the system's characteristic and the difference between system performance and business performance and their related influences according to the level of strategic utilization of information system, this study attempted to offer the theoretical foundation on which the utilization plan of information system is established as business management strategy.
Nevertheless, this stydy has the following limitations in spite of such positive implications.
Firstly, though the importance of the information system, for present and future respectively, is not the same, when considering actual lines of business and their size, this study did not divide the business enterprises into product categories but attempted to draw a strategic pattern of information system through the use of total sample.
Secondly; In extracting a strategic pattern I only measured the perception degree of the respondents about the measurement variable, which can not rule out some subjective tendency of mine.
Accordingly, I deem it a littled far-fetched to generalize the results of this research. I think that in future study a long period of experimental study is imperative in order to overcome such limitation.
