兪鎭五 詩 硏究 = (A) Study of Yu jin-o's poetry

국문 초록 (Abstract)

해방기는 우리 민족에게 일제 식민지 시대를 벗어나 새로운 시대를 향한 가능성을 가져다주는 시기였다. 그러나 외세에 의한 분단과 좌·우익 이념 대립 등의 정치적 현실은 민족에게 혼란을 가져왔다. 그리고 정치적 현실 상황에서 소외된 민중들의 삶은 궁핍함으로 고통 받고 있었다. 이러한 시기에 신진 시인으로 등장한 유진오는 기성 시인들의 일제 식민지 시대부터 이어진 시적 활동에서 벗어나, 해방기의 새로운 시대 상황이 요구하는, 시적 활동의 모습을 보여줄 수 있는 가능성을 갖는다. 본 연구는 유진오의 시가 해방기의 현실 상황을 적극적으로 체험하며 이루어지고 있는 점에 주목하여 그의 시가 갖는 의의를 탐색하였다.
Ⅱ장에서는 해방기 <조선문학가동맹>의 문학 활동을 통하여 유진오의 문학적 배경과 그의 정치적·문학적 신념을 살폈다. <조선문학가동맹>은 새로운 국가 건설을 위한 정치적 과제에 적극적으로 참여하는 문학 활동을 하였다. 그리고 시국 관련 행사 등을 통하여 자신들의 정치적 이념을 민중들에게 전달하며 참여를 유도하였다. <조선문학가동맹>의 민중들과의 접근 노력은 젊은 신인들의 등장 배경이 되었다. 이것은 젊은 신인들이 새로운 시대의 욕구에 부응하는 문학적 실천을 할 수 있는 가능성을 갖고 있었기 때문이다. 유진오도 이 시기에 <조선문학가동맹>의 젊은 시인으로 등장하여 해방기 현실 상황에 적극적으로 참여하는 시적 활동을 보인다. 유진오의 시는 정치적 이념만을 위한 시는 아니었다. 그는 해방기 현실 상황에서 민중이 처한 삶을 이해하고 민중을 위하는 시인이 되려고 하였다. 그리하여 유진오의 시는 민중들과 함께 현실 상황을 극복하려는 강력한 의지를 나타내고 있었다.
Ⅲ장에서는 유진오의 시적 전개와 그 의식지향을 살폈다. 유진오는 시에서 해방기 현실 상황의 모습을 이분법적으로 나타내며 인식하고 있다. 이것은 민중들과 반민중 세력들의 생활에 대한 극명한 대비를 통하여 나타난다. 민중들에게 모순된 현실 상황을 인식시키고, 그 현실에 적극적으로 참여하여 극복하려는 의식을 일깨우려는 시적 모습이었던 것이다. 또한 유진오는 시국과 관련된 여러 행사 등에서 시를 낭독하며 민중들과 직접적인 만남을 가지고 있다. 그의 낭독시는 행사에 참여한 민중들의 삶과 욕구를 대변하고 있기에 상호간의 정서적인 공감대를 형성할 수 있었다. 그리고 현실의 위기 상황에서도 회피하지 않고, 내면적인 다짐을 통하여 극복하려는 모습을 시에서 나타낸다. 10월 항쟁의 좌절로 좌익 세력들과 민중들에 대한 탄압이 가중되었지만, 그 위기를 민중들과 함께 딛고 일어서려는 투쟁의지를 보여준다.
이상과 같이 유진오의 시는 해방기의 현실 상황을 민중들의 삶을 통하여 인식하고 있었다. 그리고 새로운 국가 건설이라는 해방기의 민족적 과제에 민중들이 주체가 되지 못하고, 궁핍한 삶 속에서 신음하는 모순된 현실 상황을 극복하려는 의지를 나타내고 있었다.
그의 시는 해방기 문학의 적극적인 현실 참여의 모습을 보여주며, 시대적 상황이 요구하는 문학적 기능의 한 면을 실천하고 있다. 또한 민중적 삶에 다가가며 민중과의 적극적인 연대를 이끌어내는 시적 실천은, 대중성의 획득과 주체적 의식을 지닌 민중들의 역량을 나타냄으로써 현실 참여 문학의 한 전범을 보여주는 시사적 의의를 지닌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The liberation from Japan opened a possibility for Korea to proceed a new era. However, the beginning of new era was confused with the political situation, such as the partition of the Korean peninsula by foreign influences and the confrontation between the left and right wing, and it gave difficulty to the neglected and the poor. Right at that moment a poet, Yu jin-o, showed the possibility of a new poetic activity, which was deviated from the poetic activity of poets established from the colonial period by Japan and was required in the new age. In this paper, I studied the significance of Yu jin-o's poetry which was formed in the liberation age.
In chapter two, through the activities of 'Korean Literature Union' in the liberation age, I searched the background of Yu jin-o's poetry and his belief about politics and literature. In order to establish a new country, 'Korean Literature Union' wrote their works actively to take part in the political assignment and led the people by expressing their own political idea through events related to the situation. The 'Korean Literature Union' efforts to approach the people became the foundation of the appearance of the young poets, because they had the ability to practice the literary activity which was able to satisfy the desire of the new age. As a young poet in the age, Yu jin-o also showed the poetic activity to participate in the situation of the liberation age aggressively. His poems were written not only for the political idea but also he tried to be a poet who was able to understand the exhausted living of the people in the age and devote himself for the people. Thus, his poems showed his strong will to overcome the situation with the people.
In chapter three, I studied his poetic development and his intention. In his poems, he showed divided recognition about the situation of the age which reflected the struggled attitude between people's power group and anti-people's power group. His poetic activity had purpose to make the people realize their situation and overcome by taking part in the situation. Also, he participated in the events about the situation of the age to meet the people directly by reading poems. His poems, which symbolized for the people's living and their desire, were able to form the common feeling among the people. His poems also showed the internal will to overcome the critical situation and to struggle the crisis without avoiding the situation, even though the left wing more strictly oppressed the people after the failure of the October's struggle, the poet showed his ardent will to stand up with the people.
As mentioned above, Yu jin-o's poetry expressed the realistic situation of the liberation age through the people's living, and in order to establish a new nation. His poetry showed his will to overcome the critical situation; in which the people could not be the subject of the nation.
The poet, Yu jin-o actively participated in the real situation of the liberation age, and practiced the literary function required by the situation of the age. Also, his poetic practice, which approached to the people's living and leaded the active solidarity with the people, could obtain the popularity and displayed the people's ability. Therefore, his poetic practice means that his poetry shows the example of the participation literature.
