영구임대아파트 단지 청소년의 진로태도성숙도 결정요인에 관한 연구 = (A) study on the determinants of attitude maturity toward career decision-making process of youths living in permanent rental apartments

국문 초록 (Abstract)

우리나라의 대표적인 빈곤지역이라 할 수 있는 영구임대아파트 단지에 거주하고 있는 청소년들이 빈곤을 탈피하고 독립적이고 안정적인 생활을 도와주기 위해서는 졸업 후 이들이 바람직한 진로선택에 대한 개입과 함께 성숙한 진로태도를 가지도록 하는 것이 매우 중요하다.
따라서, 본 연구는 영구임대아파트 단지에 거주하는 청소년들의 진로태도성숙도에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 개인, 가족, 사회체계로 구분하여 실증적으로 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히, 영구임대아파트 단지에 거주하는 청소년들의 개인, 가족, 사회체계들이 이들의 진로태도성숙도에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 후, 개인체계를 매개로 하여 진로태도성숙도에 미치는 영향을 분석함으로써 각 요인들이 영구임대아파트 단지 청소년들의 진로태도성숙도에 미치는 상대적 영향력을 파악하고자 한다.
연구의 조사 대상자는 서울특별시 소재 영구임대아파트 단지에 거주하는 고등학교 2,3학년 청소년으로 총 154명이며, 자기 기입식(self-administered)방법을 통해 자료를 수집하였다.
주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 영구임대아파트 단지 청소년들의 일반적 특성에 따른 진로태도성숙도의 차이를 살펴본 결과 성별, 학업성적과 부모의 직업, 학력, 월수입에 따라 진로태도성숙도에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다.
둘째, 진로태도성숙도에 대한 통제변인들과 가족체계, 사회체계와 개인체계의 변인들의 영향력을 살펴보았을 때, 통제변인 중 학년, 가족체계 중 부모의 자율적 양육태도, 사회체계의 교사의 지지, 개인체계인 자아존중감이 진로태도성숙도에 직접적으로 정적(+)인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 가족, 사회체계 중 부모의 수용적, 자율적 양육태도와 친구와의 기능적 관계가 개인체계인 자아존중감에 정적인 영향을 미치고, 교사의 지지는 부적(-)인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 본 연구에서 개인체계로 살펴본 자아존중감이 독립변수 중 통계적으로 유의미한 것으로 나타난 부모의 자율적 양육태도, 교사의 지지와 종속변수인 진로태도성숙도 사이에서 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다.
다섯째, 경로분석을 통해 각 변인이 종속변수에 영향을 미치는 직접효과와 간접효과를 살펴보았을 때, 간접효과보다 직접효과가 더욱 크게 나타났다. 즉, 각 체계의 변인들이 자아존중감을 거쳐서 종속변수에 미치는 간접적인 영향력 보다 직접적인 영향력이 더욱 크게 나타났다.
이상의 연구결과를 기초로 하여 가족체계, 사회체계, 개인체계에서의 사회복지적 함의를 찾고, 영구임대아파트 단지에 거주하는 청소년들의 바람직한 진로선택을 위한 사회 복지적 개입방법을 제시해 보았다.
먼저, 영구임대아파트 단지에 거주하는 청소년들의 가족체계에 대해 다음과 같은 함의를 제시한다.
첫째, 빈곤 가정을 위한 경제적 자활·자립을 위한 지속적인 직업훈련, 취업알선, 자활근로제공 등을 포함한 경제적인 지원은 필수적이다.
둘째, '자녀양육 교육지원 프로그램'이 지역사회복지관을 중심으로 활발히 이루어야 할 것이다.
다음으로, 영구임대아파트 단지에 거주하는 청소년들의 사회체계에 대해 다음과 같은 함의를 제시한다.
첫째, 인문계에 비해 진로의 선택이 한정적인 실업계 학생들이 실업계 졸업자의 높은 실업률로 인해 오히려 진로의 결정에 있어 어려움을 겪고 있음을 나타내고 있으며, 또한 전체 중학생의 실업계 진학률은 점차 감소하는 반면에 영구임대아파트 단지 청소년들은 여전히 실업계 고등학교를 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과에 대한 보다 구체적인 연구와 함께 현재 실업계 고등학교의 실태를 살펴보고, 이에 따른 개선방안을 세우는 일이 매우 필요하다.
둘째, 상급학교로의 진학과 노동시장 진입에 실패한 청소년들에 대한 개입은 매우 필요하다. 따라서, 90년대 후반이후, 이러한 청소년들의 경제적 자립과 자활을 위해 설립된 '청소년자활지원관'을 더욱 확대시키고, 활성화시킬 필요가 있다.
셋째, 학교체계에서 영구임대아파트 단지에 거주하는 청소년들에 대한 사회복지적 개입은 매우 필요하다. 학교체계에서 교사 뿐만 아니라 학교사회사업가 혹은 지역사회복지관의 사회복지사들의 역할을 학대시켜야 한다.
넷째, 친구와의 기능적 관계를 발전시키기 위해 학교사회사업가 혹은 지역사회복지관의 사회복지사의 지속적인 개입이 필요하다. 의사소통훈련, 자기주장훈련과 같이 보다 적절한 친구관계를 유지하기 위한 프로그램들과 함께, 지역사회복지관에서 청소년들이 방과 후 또래들과 건전한 여가를 보낼 수 있도록 공간과 프로그램을 마련해 주고, 청소년들이 자신들의 관심과 흥미에 맞는 동아리를 만들고 스스로 운영할 수 있도록 지도하는 것은 매우 유익할 것이다.
마지막으로, 영구임대아파트 단지에 거주하는 청소년들의 개인체계에 대해 다음과 같은 함의를 제시한다.
다음과 같이 자아존중감을 높이는 방향과 목표를 가진 다양한 접근들이 필요하다.
첫째, 청소년들의 학업능력을 높이기 위한 개입이 필요하다. 대부분 경제적 어려움을 겪고 있는 부모들이 자녀들의 학업능력의 향상을 위해 사교육비를 지출하는 것은 쉽지 않기 때문에, 학업능력수준을 향상시키고 가정의 교육비 지출 부담을 줄이기 위해 지역사회복지관에서 실시되는 '방과후교실' 과 같은 방안들이 활성화되어야 한다.
둘째, 자아존중감을 향상시키기 위한 다양한 인지·행동적 접근들이 필요하다.
'자기주장훈련, '자기지각 프로그램, '목표의식 프로그램'과 같은 집단프로그램 등은 이 지역 청소년들의 자아존중감 향상을 위한 매우 효과적인 방안이 될 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

It is very important for us to intervene in youth's career determination and help them to possess mature attitude toward career decision-making process. It is especially important for us to intervene in the determination of youths, living in permanent rental apartments ,the most typical poverty area in Korea, which help people overcome poverty and live independent and stable lives.
The purpose of this study is to investigate specificly what the determinants of attitude maturity toward career decision-making process are. So, first, this study categorized and investigated various influential factors that have effect on attitude maturity toward career decision-making process into 3 systems factors(personal, family and social system) according to the eco-systems perspective. Personal system variance is measured by self-esteem, family system variances by parenting attitude and family functioning and social system variances by teacher support and functional relations with friends. Third, this study looked into relative influences of the mediating effect through personal system variance, self-esteem. Fourth, this study investigated the paths of each variables.
The study's subject was 154 junior or senior students in high school, living in permanent rental apartments. The data was collected by a self-administered survey method.
The major findings are as follows:
First, gender, grade, parent's occupation, parent's educational background, income of family made meaningful differences on the attitude maturity toward career decision-making process of youths.
Second, the factors directly affecting attitude maturity toward career decision-making process are of the control variances, grade, self control-control parenting attitude of the family system variances, teacher support of the social system variances, and self-esteem of the personal system variance.
Third, the factors positively affecting self-esteem are reception-refusal and self control-control parenting attitude of family system variances and functional relations with friends of the social system variance and self-esteem of the personal system variance. But, teacher support negatively affected self-esteem.
Fourth, self-esteem of the personal system variance played a mediating role between self control-control parenting attitude and teacher support of independent variables and the dependent variable, attitude maturity toward career decision-making process.
Fifth, path analysis showed that the direct effect of the independent variable on dependent variable is stronger than the indirect effect, the effect that each independent variable affects through self-esteem of the personal system variable.
Based on the study results above, implications for the social work in family, social and personal system are as follows.
First, implications for family system of youths living in permanent rental apartments are as follows:
1. Youths living in permanent rental apartments were affected by social economic stature of parents. So, to help families to support themselves economically, it is necessary to provide programs like vocational training, job placement, self-employment support program as well as to subsidize economic resources.
2. To help parents raise their children effectively, it is necessary to provide various parenting support programs like educational programs that provide knowledge and information about raising their children and consultation programs that provide counseling for parent's problems.
Second, implications for social system of youths living in permanent rental apartments are as follows:
1. It is necessary to investigate what the problems of the technical high school are and to consider how to solve these problems. Career decisiveness of students in the academic high school are higher than that of the students in the technical high school. What is more important is the ratio of students living in permanent rental apartments that go on to technical high schools are still high, despite of the general decrease of the ratio of students who go on to technical high schools in Korea. So, this study suggested to include a education process that promotes attitude maturity toward career decision-making process in the general curriculum and to systematize synthetical database that can see the general transition from the education market to labor market for effective career guidance.
2. To help youths who fail to go on to the next stage of education and enter the labor market, it is necessary to revitalize "Self-Employment Supporting Organization for Youths" that is established for the purpose of economic self-support of youths.
3. It is also very important to intervene in the school system. "The school social work" is an appropriate way of intervening. In school, school social workers and social workers who are dispatched from a community organization, cooperate with teachers so that they can help students more effectively. For example, social workers and school social workers can intervene more professionally with students who have problems than a teacher, assess students's problems in cooperations with teachers, and take part in deciding direction of school policies.
4. To support appropriate friendship of youths, it is necessary to provide various group programs in community organizations like communication training program, self-assertive training and to provide space and programs for various club activities. It will be especially useful to help youths organize and manage clubs themselves, because it will promote self-esteem and attitude maturity toward career decision-making process.
Finally, implications for personal system of youths living in permanent rental apartments are as follows:
1. To promote self-esteem of youths, it is very important to improve their school grades and academic achievement. This is so because many youths who have low school grades have inclination to possess low self-esteem. But, parents that live in permanent-rental apartments have difficulty in paying educational expenses, that is needed to higher the youth's scores. So, it is necessary to support supplementary education through "after school programs" in community organizations.
2. To promote self-esteem of youths, it is necessary to provide various cognitive and behavior group programs like self-assertiveness training, self-knowledge program, goal consciousness program in community organizations.
