The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of self-regulated learning strategy training on the use of self-regulated leaTning strategy and reading comprehension of reading underachievers.
The main hypotheses tested were'(1) Experimental group trained self-regulated teaming strategy wilT use self-regulated training strategy than control group not trained. (2) Experimental group trained sel(-regulated learning strategy will improve more reading comprehension than control group not trained.
A total number of 225 children of 5th grades in elementary school were participated in this study. In which, each IS children were randomly assigned to experimental group and control group. To test theses hypotheses, it was administered two tests, self-regulated learning strategy test and reading comprehension test before and after the experiment. A experimental design of this study was pretest-posttest control group design. The experimental treatment was self-regulated learning strategies training during six weeks. means and standard deviations obtained from these tests were analyzed with t-test using SPSSWIN 1.0 version
The results of this study were as follows:
(1) Experimental group trained self-regulated learning strategy was more used self-regulated strategy significantly than control group not trained. (2) Experimental group trained self-regulated learning strategy was more improved reading comprehension significantly than control group not trained.
