The subjects of this study are 104 seven year olds ( 54 boys and 50 girls) selected from two different kindergartens and their 104 parents in Seoul. : Thus there are two groups one of children and the other of their parents.
As measuring tools for the parents' rearing attitude, the same questionnaires used in Lee, chong-seong's work(1982) was used.
This questionnaire was composed of 60 items.
For creativity, Joen Kyoung Won (Test of Korean Comprehensive Creativity Test for Young Children, K-CCTYC) was utilized.
As for statistical analysis to verify the research problem questions, the t-Test is adopted to check the differences in groups, while the pearson correlation coefficient is used to check the relationship between the parent's rearing attitude and child's creativity.
Followings are the results obtained from this study.
First, there were differences in parent's rearing attitude between boys and girls and their attitude towards girls were tend to be more positive than that of boys.
Second, girls showed to have better creativity than boys.
Third, there is a signifiant relationship between the parent's rearing attitude and child's creativity.
In conclusion, it was evident that depending on the parent's attitude the creativity of their children can be increased from this study. However there is always a possibility that there may be discrepancy between their answers and their real attitude, so this may influence the result of this study. Moreover, these standardized tests for measuring creativity is not used in real life and the relation of these children may have been limited hence it is needed to develop other various testing methods.
